Whenever I try to edit my profile or profile picture it tells me that I cant do that... and i've done everything... activate my profile, etc.. can anybody help me?

You can't edit your profile, add avatar or signature because you are currently on probie status. Learn more about it here.
Probie status doesn't last forever, so in the meantime just have fun, post and play nice with the other kids.
