So jumping out of FTL to visit various planets by choice is? Much of the required supplies are now being provided onboard the ship, so these many stops aren't as necessary as they once were. On account of their crew being dwindled down by Simeon, it would actually be wise for them to retrieve Telford not only for the extra manpower, but for his insight as well; regardless of if he may or may not be a traitor.

It's too dangerous, those aliens nearly depleted all of destiny's power last time and Telford was left there weeks, maybe months ago now, the crew most likely think he's dead.

not just for Telford but also for Destiny to siphon all that power from seed ship to work the stargate for earth.

That makes too much sense. It would end the series too quickly and they want 5 seasons for SGU.
I think if they needed to wrap up the series quickly with one episode, due to cancellation, that is the way to do it.

              Supposedly in the episode tonight....
              Spoiler:
Telford is back and perhaps he got back in the Seeder ship with the browns. Maybe they fixed the problem and flew the ancient seeder ship to the battle. With Telford back, we should at least get an update on the Seeder ship even if it is no longer available.

The power is important but like I said the aliens nearly depleted destinys power last time and they couldn't stop it, it'd be too much of a risk going back.

It was Rush from the Bridge who closed the Powerdrain. They can just as easily do that now.

They still can't steer Destiny on its pre-determined path. Just choose when to enter and exit FTL

Rush didn't actually close the powerdrain, he severed the connection by moving destiny, to save Telford they'd have to reconnect, risking the power drain again.

Yes they can. That is what tonight's episode is all about.
They also did it in Malice by going back to within range to pickup Rush after he missed the deadline.

So clearly going back to the seed ship is an available option if they wanted to take the series that direction. I simply think that the writers don't want to go there. Having the seed ship power to gate home defeats the premise of SGU way too early.

They would just need to storm the seed ship and establish firm control with superior numbers and fire power.
                            But it won't happen.

I said so far. The events of Resurgence haven't occured yet.
