    Blueberry Hyperspace

In each of the scenarios played out in Young's head, Brody said the the Blues were coming out of Hyperspace. Given that everything being said was from the Destiny, can we take that as a definitive answer that the Blues are using a form of hyperspace travel rather than the sort of FTL that Destiny uses?

Pegasus and Milky Way windows look different. Maybe that white singularity is just their variation on it?

i'd say it's either a writer's mistake or they indeed use their own version of hyperspace

Given that the simulation was created by Destiny itself, it's possible that ship has somehow determined that the Blueberries are using a form of hyperspace travel.

does it really matter, they both travel at extreme FTL speeds just one is in hyperspace and on is not...obviously destiny is still just as fast or maybe faster

The visual effects look nothing like hyperspace.
We saw the Hammond earlier in the season using hyperspace so we know the look wasn't changed.
All the other variations (Asgard, Ancient, Wraith, Goa'uld) looked pretty much the same.

Another argument: in season one they never used "hyperspace" when talking about the blue aliens. That would have been the time to mention it if it had been the case. They simply don't know what it is.

Considering all this - IMO it's not hyperspace.

Now why did Brody say it:

Since the simulation was made with elements of Young's mind naturally certain words most familiar to him would be used. As a Colonel in United States Air Force the only type of interstellar travel he had known (before getting on Destiny) would be hyperspace.

          Or

Brody said hyperspace for the same reason - his most familiar word for describing interstellar travel. Technically inaccurate though.

          Or

The writers made a mistake. It wouldn't be the first time. "Drop out of hyperspace" is a very commonly used phrase in Stargate so I could see it happening. Someone should ask Joe about this.
Carter: "The singularity is about to explode!"

Their method of leaving FTL is vaguely similar in execution, but one could say this about Destiny. That bright white flash is definitely not how hyperspace has been depicted, even in this show.

Maybe it just means you know the Blues use hyperspace

It was never established on their mode of travel in the past.

At least it has the term blue in it.

                          "Smurf" is implicitly blue

                            They are also very short.

Well, it's not really a plot hole, since the fact if they were using hyperspace or FTL had no influence whatsoever on the plot. At least, not in this episode.

I was under the impression they were using an FTL-engine like the one on Destiny. The visual and sound effects are very similar. But, these are of course no concrete evidence, it might be just another form of hyperspace travel. After all, we have seen different forms (colors) of hyperspace windows and "First Contact" / "The Lost Tribe" established that every race has its own, unique hyperdrive version that operates on a specific frequency, so it might be just that.
