Perhaps but I find it difficult to believe that after a month plus that a bunch of scientists were still living in lean to's. Granted that they probably only had shovels to start with. No axes, saws, or other pleasantries. But they have the shuttle, which has guns for knocking down trees and some horse power to move the fallen trees. Basically lots of unaswered questions with all the folks left behind. Including Palmer and the Marine from Air III.
