Telford's been under their control for a year, yes, but your analogy doesn't work. The robbing a bank analogy fails because people would notice. Assuming he wasn't caught on the spot, which he would have been, he'd be instantly ID'd when they noticed someone made an unauthorized download. It's their best tech; they're not going to be lax after the many security failures. He could get away with it once, and he'd be outed eventually.

Moreover, Telford doesn't work for the same bank, so to speak. His department is not the same department as 304/Asgard research. That is Area 51's deal, and they are very paranoid about it. Telford, from what we've been told, got himself posted to Icarus after leaving the spy game. He wouldn't have the opportunity to steal that kind of data.

And if McKay fails to logout? Impersonation devices. Ancient Stones. Many means to an end. Not that he'd need to do anything if those ships blown up by the Ori were left unscavenged and the databases remained intact. I'm sure that the LA could piece together enough of whatever thing they needed. Perhaps just Telford as the middle man to exchange tons of gold or whatever for those who did have access. Or the funny corn stuff. Many different scenarios are possible. And no you don't rob the bank robber while they're robbing the bank, you wait for them to escape first.

McKay works at Atlantis, not Area 51 (though he has at various points). Ancient stones do not provide password or protocol knowledge necessary to the entrance of such facilities, and require both users to be aware of what they are doing.

There were three Ori ships conventionally destroyed as I recall, one by the supergate and it was pretty messed up, one in another galaxy (not counting the two dead by planet), and one in orbit of that planet they stopped at. Only the first of those three isn't space dust, and it was taken care of by the Ori as far as we know.

The bank robbing analogy still doesn't work. Telford is the only guy they have on Earth. No one else is there to do the robbing. The Alliance would never get past the door, so to speak, and Telford isn't cleared to do it.

That we know of... Driving around in trucks and using cell phones implies a few other connections. It's not like they just stopped by earth with a suitcase of greenbacks to buy those earth things. And I doubt that Telford makes enough to buy TWO brand new SUV's.

Disposable cell phones are easy to buy, cars are easy to steal, and the guns aren't even Earth-made that we know of (they also have some sort of custom rocket launcher in concept art).

anyone catch Ginn talking about the Luciene Alliance and how they have been around for 12 or 13 years?

That means the LA is as old as the SGC, but I feel like in SG1 season 9 when they were introduced they were relatively new... so they should only be 5 or 6 years old (thats when the Goa'uld really fell, season 7)

Those are spoilers for the next episode, it should be noted. The Alliance likely existed in some form before the fall of the Goa'uld. They had to given their rather sudden organization. They would only be able to rise to prominence after the fall.
