    Stargate New Seasons ~ Atlantis ~ Reclamation ~ Season 6 RPG ~SGA1~Off World Missions

    <Atlantis> - <Control room/ Puddlejumper>

    {Lt Colonel John Sheppard}

    Kawoosh, the gate opened in front of the Jumper and it's sound was inaudible to those inside, but most of them had heard it so often, it was if it was replayed in their heads anyway.

    "Hang on folks, here we go." John gave his thought to the Ancient controls and the Jumper began to move, as it did so he answered Mckay. "I think Rodney, because you're on my team....unless of course you'd rather..." He gave him a pathetic grin. "By the way, just how much did you modify number four?"

    <Atlantis Team 1>

    {Captain/Doctor Anne MacGregor}

    Anne was mildly surprised by the sensation of traveling through a worm hole, of course there was nothing to remember except having her molecules broken down and reassembled in that way gave her the heevy geevies. She was speechless and simply smiled at Jennifer. The faces on the others, Radek, Ronon, Todd and Teyla that she could see were impassive as if this was an everyday thing. When the jumper re-intergrated with the world of Baku, she drew in her breath deeply. Mountains, a verdant green world much like the semi-tropical parts of Earth. She patted both Jennifer and Teyla each on the lap and said softly. "Thank you"

      {Todd}

      Todd stood slowly and looked directly into the Satedan's eyes. All too aware that he was at a disadvantage here, he had tried to ignore the human's needling but it seemed he was left with no choice but to response in kind. "Perhaps you should listen more closely Satedan, I told you it was no concern of yours," his face twisted into an unpleasant snarl, "or do you lack the intelligence to understand?"

        {Ronon} -- {Teyla}

        The scenery was lost to Ronon (although the gate travel was of course unmissable), when he looked back in the Wraith's slitted, snake like eyes.

        "I understood what you said. But that's not really an answer. Everything you think IS of concern to us." The words 'of concern' were said exactly the way Todd had uttered them, full of disdain/sarcasm.

        Teyla quickly intervened. "Todd, Ronon. We do not need this argument. We need to focus on our mission. Todd, once we land, please try and work out if this world has been culled. That is why you are here for. Nothing else."

        She still felt bad about the Wraith even being there, but she did not let that show. Her face was as always calm, unemotional. Teyla hoped it would be enough to break the two up.

        Ronon just shrugged Teyla off and kept staring at the Wraith's face, Todd had really messed with his head now and he wanted an answer.

          Zelenka

          Zelenka watched as these two giants matched up to each other and in his nervousness dropped a piece of equipment he was holding onto the floor, the sound clanged thro the deathly silence.

            {Todd}

            While Teyla's dislike washed over Todd's senses, it's effect was lost as he focused his eyes on the middle of the Satedan's broad chest, imagining the pleasure to be had from draining this one of life. "It is the only answer you are going to get," he looked back at the human's face and smiled unpleasantly, "and there is nothing you can do to change this fact."

              <Baku> - <Jumper 4>

              {Dr. Jennifer Keller}

              So thick the proverbial knife wouldn't have stood a snowflake's chance in hell of cutting it, the atmosphere seethed, teetering towards violence in the small internal space of the jumper. The antagonists were practically nose to nose, and even though Todd's body language telegraphed careful control, it would take very little to tip him over the edge. Jennifer cleared her throat, and tried an appeal to both of them.

              "Ronon, Todd... look... c'mon, please, save this till later. None of us are happy about being here..." She trailed off when Ronon directed a hot, angry gaze her way, and Todd's reptile eyes looked at her from the corner of his. Perhaps humour would be a better method, she mused. "Besides, there's not enough room for a fight in here."

              There wasn't a glimmer of a smile, and for the first time in her life, Jennifer wished she had a zat, or Wraith stunner, because she would have used it on both of them. The aggressive posturing and overwhelming stench of testosterone was getting to her - if they wanted a pissing party, it could definitely wait.

              "We have got to work together," she said, a hint of steel in her tones, "like it or not. And you can work together."

                  {Ronon} -- {Teyla}

                  Teyla looked gratefully at Keller, it seemed the doctor might have a better chance at resolving this. Ignoring Todd for now, she turned back to Ronon, and tried to help calm him.

                  Just the feel of Teyla's hand on his shoulder, and her soft murmur of his name, brought Ronon out of his red haze. Keller's words hadn't really hit home until now.

                  He merely grunted, then turned and stood against the wall. He should have known better. Wraith had that *way* of getting in your head. He shouldn't have allowed it to happen. Ronon was still angry, but now more at himself than anyone else.

                  Teyla watched, kind of knowing what was going on inside. They exchanged a glance of reassurance. Teyla took her place again, knowing that for now, it would work out.

                    {Dr. Jennifer Keller}

                    Grateful Teyla seemed to have managed to get through to Ronon, Keller tentatively reached up and placed her hand on Todd's forearm. His fierce head turned in her direction, his expression telling her he was at war with his emotions. Maybe this was something she needed to address, maybe it was too soon for him to be gallivanting across the galaxy after so long in an Ancient machine? Maybe, and this did worry her, the injection was beginning to wear off? Concern for her friends, and oddly, for the Wraith, for he was a patient, pricked at her.

                    "Sit down," she demanded, and was surprised by her own temerity. "Now! I want to check you over."

                      "Well Zelenka and I did some extensive work on it we had to sacrifice a little head room in the cargo section, but if you really want to know we stored the schematics in a safe location. You can look at them once we get back to Atlantis," Rodney said.

                        {Todd}

                        As he looked down at the Doctor's small hand resting on his arm, Todd took a deep breath and allowed his muscles to relax. He had not asked for this confrontation and was annoyed he had allowed himself to be goaded so effectively.

                        Returning to his seat, he held out his feeding hand for Keller to inspect. "As you see there is no sign of inflammation." He looked up and a thin smile touched the corners of his mouth in response to the concern evident on her face. "And I feel quite well thank you Doctor."

                          {Ronon}

                          Ronon made a chuckling sound, watching Keller and the Wraith. He had by now calmed down enough to see the humour in that situation. Feeding hand not inflammated. Really. Did they really think their concoctions worked? He just had to hope they did (even if there was no visible evidence of either). And after all, Todd hadn't fed on anyone. Yet. And he wouldn't, for just as long as Ronon had air to breathe.

                            {Dr. Jennifer Keller}

                            Annoyed, Jennifer snapped, "I'll be the judge of that, if you don't mind, and don't think for a minute this is just for you." When Todd chuckled at her response, she took the proffered hand and palpated around the orifice, then up his arm. There was some swelling, but nothing another shot of antihistamine couldn't handle. She reached for her kit bag, located the drug and a sharp, then quickly drew up a dose. "A little prick," she said - rather than a big one, ran through her head - and massaged the fluid into his muscle.

                            Neither of them realised the jumper had been landed, until an exclamation came from McKay.

                              {Lt Colonel John Sheppard}

                              Listening to the chatter and hostility in the rear John afforded himself a smile. "Old times" The thought brushed his mind. Somewhere around twelve kilomtres from the gate, the first rather large Baku settlement appeared within a large cleared area of the forest. At least from above the tree tops that's how it appeared. Coming in closer and touching down on the edge of the town gave it more perspective. It was closer to a little city than a town, twenty five thousand people lived here. Miners mostly and naturally a robust timber industry. Their level of technology being something near to Earth at around the early twentieth century. They had fossil fuel, electricity and radio. Motor vehicles were rare but they had them, a little more advanced, probably closer to nineteen thirties vintage if that could be said.

                              There were a number of other larger cities on Baku's main continent and the whole planet had around five million people at one time, but culling kept their growth in check. John reflected on when they first discovered Baku, the address had somehow been obscured in the ancient data base for some reason, no one could figure out why.

                              He brought the Jumper in slowly and landed in the towns main square, the rear door opened and he stood and spoke to the Jumper's occupants. "Right, teams of two. Choose your partners and we'll see how well you can dance. Mckay and Docor Beckett you're with me, file out everyone."
