The characters I miss the most are Jonas (of course); Joe Faxon from 2010/2001; and Paul Emerson, the commander of the Odyssey. Jonas was just a wonderful character - filled with awe and wonder at the new worlds he was discovering, and so smart but in a different way than Daniel - and both Joe Faxon and Paul Emerson were just enjoyable, likable characters.

Syfy wanted a big death.

It was also thought that year 7 was the last year SG1 would be on the air, and they wanted to have a big, important death, and Janet was chosen to be the unfortunate person to kill.

And then they got renewed for another year (and killed Jacob for similar reasons), and another year, and another year ...

And I agree with many of the other choices already stated:

You're not alone, she doesn't seem to be all that popular. I think had she have appeared in more episodes and given more of an opportunity for development, people would have warmed to her a little more.

Well... if we're talking about those who have died:
Janet for sure. and Jacob. SAD : ( I'll never get over Janet.

if we're talking about people I feel that I missed getting to see as often as I would have liked:
numero uno: Cassandra!!!!!! Oy vey. Please, why couldn't she have popped in to see her mom and the gang once in a blue moon???

And I would have loved to have seen Catherine and Ernest a few more times, they were cute.
