In the episode mckay and mrs. miller, the ancients had in place a device which could potentially have created more power than that of the ZPM's. Rush himself would have probably lied because it would potentially have threatened his position as lead scientist.
They shut that project down, cause like with the space bridge in Mccay and ms miller, they couldn't control the exotic particles..

If they could harness that or double that (like when destiny and the seedship are combined) They could get to destiny safely, or if asgard and ancient knowledge can get earth to produce safe clean fusion energy that is similar too.
But they have not found anything IN the ancient database ON the Destiny though..

I've always thought that if the series had continued, Earth would look into building it's own Destiny-style ship running at least partially on 'star power'. With the combined sources of the Asgard and Ancient databases plus what Rush and Eli could directly tell them about Destiny's power source after a few years of working with it, Earth should be able to figure out a working system to collect and use star power with a ship. Then it would just be a matter of collecting and storing enough energy to dial Destiny.

Since it would be reasonable (given Destiny's age) to assume that Asgard and Atlantis-era Ancient shields are stronger than Destiny's, along with a variety of other tech that Earth now has access to and started to reproduce, with some study and experimentation it should be doable as long as they have the resources to build such a ship.

That's the kicker.. Do they have the resources to build one? Also how long will it take, remember they entered stasis for a hopeful 3 yr trip.

I think they would be able to get the resources (especially with the 3 year time jump); while Destiny is massive Earth would not need to build a ship nearly that size. My guess is that it be larger than a Daedalus class ship to have the storage capacity to collect enough star power for a Destiny dial, but not so massive that Earth couldn't pull it off.

Hopefully Woolsey can find a diplomatic solution on Langaria to use as an icarus planet, and we can dial Destiny and supply it all we want. If the series ever gets renewed, that is....
