Telford is not faking it, otherwise that guy who felt his neck would have done something with him other than left him there.

They couldn't have shown the aftermath of the Telford-Kiva shootout since the whole point of having the act end there was to make us wonder about who actually got shot.

Yeah we said earlier that some more screaming would certainly help. From memory of the scene where they shot each other, it pretty much just cut away after the bang and next thing they are in snooze land. Perhaps a few seconds following the shots showing them reach the realisation they had been shot and scream/not scream and then they fade off into unconsciousness.

If they were conscious that would really make for an awkward conversation between the two of them as they were just lying there.

It's just a plot device. There's no real explanation for it. People stay very conscious even through limbs that were blown off. Some of us know this for a fact unfortunately, but it doesn't make for good TV.
