i finally watched this scene on hulu i didn't notice greer was really hitting him so hard.

I think you meant this as a joke, but it's not really that funny. Greer hits him several times very hard in the face -- that scene was shortened for violence in German TV, because of the early time around 8.45 PM (I think they showed the complete scene in the night, when the kids were sleeping) -- Greer really had his fun, hitting two guys at the same time, anyway, it was brutal, and for my taste not really this funny.

Some seconds only, where Greer starts to punch him, and cause the damage in Rush's / Telford's face. So, only the seconds which were really brutal, IMO.
