More than one destiny class ship?

hey i cant remember from air but i think rush said there were seeder ships sent out and destiny was following that course does that mean that destiny is following one of the seeder ships and that there are other destinies following the other ships if this is true can manipulation of the 9 symbol address allow the other ships to be dialled? as i say cant really remember what do you guys think?

I don't believe there has been any mention of other Destiny-like ships out there, although it would make an interesting story for a future episode. By not saying, the writers certainly left that possibility open.

I think when Rush mentioned Destiny was following multiple seeder ships, he meant that there are several seeders working together along the same course, not multiple seeders headed in different directions. If you consider how many gates have been seeded in the galaxy they just left, there's no way just one seeder could stay ahead of Destiny for very long.

It would make sense that the ancients sent out more than one ship. what would be the point of sending a single ship to explore the universe? its not even the universe...its a random vector they seem to have picked out of nowhere.

*raises an eyebrow* hmmm maybe it wasn't a random vector. this may deserve its own thread, but what do you think made them choose this particular vector??

dont forget it wasnt supposed to be that far out before anyone got there, maybe they planned to have the ships circle around when they gated aboard

it's possible multiple destinies were sent in different directions.

however, ONE destiny follows MULTIPLE seeder ships.

Stargates are made from Naquadah, so the seeding ships must be programmed to seek out the mineral in order to create more gates. Bound to be more than one of them out there ahead of Destiny, laying out the gate network. Given that it takes a planet with a Naquadah / Naquadriah core to generate the amount of energy it takes to gate from the Milky Way to Destiny, the seeding ships could well be the Destiny's best chance of finding a source of power great enough to get the crew home to Earth.

If I had to hazard a guess, it would be that the Destiny is on a path that will avoid bringing it into contact with the Ori.

With the introduction of gate CODES and not just 7 to 9 symbol addressess there could be other Destinies out there. Each seeder ship could have a code, as could random Ancient space stations with gates, maybe even ancient deathstars!

That wouldn't be too hard. To even go near the Ori they would need to be trying a tiny bit. Space is vast and the Ori galaxy is far away. By this time anyway they are past the Ori galaxy.

We never had a direction or distant of the Orii Galaxy. So you can't say its "pass" the Orii Galaxy.

if asgard-level intergalactic hyperdrives are ineffective at traversing such a distance, then yes it's far. Destiny can not even be reached by the Oddy in a relatively short notice, so its even further away

Wouldn't it be cool if Destiny reached a galaxy and found that particular seeder ship adrift, not having seeded a single planet. Then they're faced with the choice, do they backtrack along the known gate network or fix the ship and start seeding planets themselves.

Of course this would probably be much later in the series run, when they've actually got some measure of control. Maybe such a lack of gates would knock Destiny out of it's preprogrammed course and give them that control.

                              Gotta love possibilities.
