The 240p is the visual quality of the vid, 240p is the lowest quality on YouTube it goes up to 1080p which is HD, if you uploaded a HD vid, then the visual quality would be better than that of the 240p Hope that helps

As for 240p its just really low quality of the vid.
Personally If I make a vid and put hard work in it, I feel like it also needs to look great on youtube so I render a file that shows 1080p on youtube (HD). Of course thats the other end of the spectrum but something in the middle would be great for vids
