that whole back wall probably opens up into a cargo bay or somethingy which opens up into space somehow, probably how they loaded the stargate in to the Destiny all those thousands of years ago. I dont think the ancients would have built the stargate first and then the ship around it.
You unlock this door with the key of imagination. Beyond it is another dimension - a dimension of sound, a dimension of sight, a dimension of mind. You're moving into a land of both shadow and substance, of things and ideas. You've just crossed over into the Twilight Zone tutulutumtum
They'd probably find themselves stuck in a situation worse than they're already in though.

That blackhole was awfully weak, since the last blackhole they encountered practically stopped time in the SGC through a wormhole linked to a planet that was merely orbiting a blackhole, yet they flew almost into this one and all that happened was Teal'cs voice got a little deeper.
What if the door leads to a special room which has everything the crew needs to fix up the ship (the tools, spare ship parts, Destiny-exclusive replicator technology...)?
One thing i have recently been wondering. Early on in the series of SG1 (and even alittle into sga) we saw when the gate made a connection, the 'kawoosh' going BOTH ways. Which is why in solitudes and 100 days, it made that cavity.
But in the latter eps and in all SGA it never did it. Cause if it did, wouldn't that door/wall have gotten vaporised?
