In the universe of stargate, why use the introductions videos from Daniel Jackson? Why not use the memory uploader, that Earth got in the 9th season of SG-1. That, would introduce the newcomers, first hand, to the dailly world of the SGC. Teach them with DJ memories about the Goauld, Pegasus Lanteans, Alterrans, Ori, Lucian Alliance or even earth historys, teach them how the Stargate function through Carter researches, hyperspace and how to operate weaponry. No need for videos.

Because the whole points of that cameo was to show non-Stargate fans what is needed to know going into SGU. Introducing the Gallaran memory device would of just confused new viewers
