I didn't think the Hammond was supposed to be ready for awhile yet anyway? in the last man (around 4 months in the future?) it still wasn't ready and took McKay and Carter working flat out for months to get it just combat ready?

The Asgard shields were in place though, after all it was being fired on by the three Hataks and the shields were holding, the only reason it was damaged in my opinion is that it had to drop shields to transport those that it could from the surface.

Yeh come one to a non stargate fan it wouldnt be an issue. To a Stargate fan, we knwo the ship might not be fully ready yet and that all other ships were crippled/busy at the time. Perhaps there was a ship at Icarus base but it was pulled away for the events of EATG. Not too hard to realise why things went down the way they did.

Plus asgard weapons look pretty lame (or at least they would have done in that scene).

Did anyone notice the purple hyperspace window? A different effect or new technology?
