M - Mari are a telepathic, humanoid species from the Delta Quadrant.

Until the mid-24th century, the Mari society was violent and crime was a major issue on their world. This was primarily caused by violent instincts being passed from one person to another via telepathy. This is similar to the problems experienced by the Vulcans before Surak's revolution.

To solve this problem, the Mari outlawed violent thoughts and developed a memory adjustment technique to remove the offending engrams from a criminal's mind. By their system, any crime was caused by the person who originally had the violent thought and it was their mind that was altered.

Although violent thoughts had apparently been eradicated, a black market arose in which people sold violent thoughts to allow others to experience dark emotions. This remained a relatively harmless practice until 2374 when a thought harvested from B'Elanna Torres of the USS Voyager proved so violent that its hosts became unstable. As a result, one Mari individual was badly beaten and another murdered before the culprits were caught and the black market and outlawed thoughts was uncovered.

Neelix described Mari women as, "beautiful, fascinating, and very open-minded."

    Neural Interface

A neural interface is a technology that allows access to an individual's mind.

In 2154, the neural interface helmet was a major component of the telepresence unit, which was used by the Romulans to control their drone-ship from their homeworld, Romulus. (ENT: "The Aenar")

Borg drones are able to initiate a direct neural interface with each other through their assimilation tubules. Seven of Nine used this method to communicate with One, a 29th century drone, in 2375. (VOY: "Drone")

In 2376, Seven of Nine linked her neural interface with that of Lansor, P'Chan, and Marika Wilkarah, all former drones of her unimatrix, in order to access missing memories of their time on Planet 1865-Alpha eight years previous. (VOY: "Survival Instinct")

Later that year, the former Borg Azan and Rebi used their neural interfaces to cheat during a game of kadis-kot with Icheb, Mezoti, and Naomi Wildman. (VOY: "Ashes to Ashes")

O - Organians are a fictional race in the universe of Star Trek. They are one of the most evolved, advanced alien races ever encountered by the crew of the original Enterprise.

The Klingons and the Federation were in dispute over the Klingon Empire expanding into spaces claimed by the Federation. With war breaking out, the Enterprise under James T. Kirk was sent to Organia to persuade its inhabitants to ally with the Federation and allow defenses. Before Kirk could persuade them, the Klingons occupied the planet. The Organians portrayed themselves as being a race barely into the Industrialized Age. Even Spock remarked to Kirk that they represented a classic example of a race experiencing no significant evolution, as their technology had shown no measurable advance in thousands of years.

The Klingons and Enterprise started to attack each other while in orbit, yet both sides were stopped by the Organians through their immense powers.

As a direct result of their intervention between the Klingon Empire and the Federation, both sides were forced to agree to a truce, in which in order for either side to gain another planet for their respective sides, they must prove to be more worthy by their ability to efficiently develop that planet.

It is not known when or if the Organian Peace Treaty was superseded in the subsequent episodes of the Star Trek saga, and the current status of the Organians is unclear in the present Star Trek Mythos.

The Organians were a race of beings who had evolved to a point of being pure conceptual beings, essence of thought with no corporeal bodies. In some ways they were similar to Q for power levels and abilities, but it is unknown if these two races ever encountered each other.

    O - Orion Syndicate

The Orion Syndicate is a criminal cabal created by the Orions. The Syndicate had been established by the 22nd century, and by the time of the 24th century it was an organized crime cartel, the equivalent of an interstellar mafia. The Syndicate from its inception included among its principal activities smuggling, piracy, slave trading, and assassination.

Q - Q Continuum is an extradimensional plane of existence inhabited by a race of extremely powerful, hyper-intelligent beings known as the Q. They claim to be largely indifferent to the affairs of the non-Q beings living in normal space, or in the many dimensions parallel to their own, considering them to be insignificant and childlike, though sometimes amusing as only children can be. However, they are clearly very interested in human beings in particular, subjecting the human race to various tests. These tests often imply that they feel somewhat threatened by humanity's potential, but are intrigued by it as well. The Q have appeared in episodes of Star Trek: The Next Generation, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, and Star Trek: Voyager. One of the Q is known as Quinn to the Voyager crew.

T - Tal Celes was a Bajoran Starfleet crewman who served aboard the Federation starship USS Voyager, which became stranded in the Delta Quadrant in 2371. By 2376, Celes was a grade three sensor analyst assigned to Voyager's astrometrics department under Seven of Nine, the department's head.

At Starfleet Academy Celes had great difficulty with her enlisteé training courses and worked three times as hard as her classmates in order to keep up. She frequently had to spend all night cramming to pass her training. She believed that she was graduated from training due to sympathy over her homeworld's conflict, and the desire of Starfleet to have Bajorans in the service.

U - United Federation of Planets (also known as "The Federation" or UFP) is a fictional interplanetary federal republic depicted in the Star Trek television series and motion pictures. In those episodes and films, the Federation is described as an interstellar federal polity with, as of the year 2373, more than 150 member planets and thousands of colonies spread across 8,000 light years of the Milky Way Galaxy, and taking the form of a liberal democracy and constitutional republic. The Federation also maintains its own military and exploratory agency, known as Starfleet. The United Federation of Planets and Starfleet are the primary focus of all the Star Trek series, with the exception of Star Trek: Enterprise, which is set before the Federation comes into existence.

Vidians=A Delta Quadrant race that is plagued with a deadly diease called the Phage. Even though their medical technology is decades ahead of the Federation they can't find a way to cure themselves. One of their most incredible advancements was doing a cross alien organ transplant. According to the Think Tank the Vidians have been cured

W - Waddi are a race from the Gamma Quadrant who first appeared in Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. They are Human-like, with black markings on their chins and/or foreheads. The Waddi have a huge love for games. One game, consisting of 5 "shapps", or levels, somehow gets Cmdr. Sisko, Kira, Jadzia Dax, and Doctor Bashir actually playing the game by being the pawns. The Waddi appear in the episode Move Along Home.

    Xindus

A world in the former Delphic Expanse that served as the collective home of the six Xindi species. After a near-century long global war, the Reptilians & Insectoids detonated warheads beneath 8 of the planet's most unstable seismic fissures. This resulted in the destruction of the planet, the extinction of the Avians, and the Xindi Diaspora throughout the Expanse.
