Jackson Signs Nine-Picture Deal to Play Nick Fury!
    Source:The Hollywood Reporter, Variety February 25, 2009

Samuel L. Jackson has buried the hatchet with Marvel Entertainment, making a deal to play the role of Nick Fury in Iron Man 2, and potentially many other films.

Jackson's deal is a long-term commitment to play Fury, the leader of the espionage unit S.H.I.E.L.D. His deal contains an option to play the character in nine future Marvel superhero films, efforts that are expected to include The First Avenger: Captain America, Thor, The Avengers, toplining a possible S.H.I.E.L.D. movie, and potential sequels.

Jackson introduced Fury in the closing moments of Iron Man, when the character asked Robert Downey Jr.'s Tony Stark to join his group

Yep I've always wanted to see Neal as the Cap and I'd suggested on several occasions that he would be a wonderful choice. It's really awesome that we now have the man himself speaking out his interest in playing the role. Let's hope he really does get picked when the movie gets a go-ahead.

          Marvel pushes back 'Thor', 'Avengers'
          Friday, March 13 2009, 06:10 GMT

          By Simon Reynolds, Movies Editor

Marvel has delayed its superhero blockbusters Thor and The Avengers by a year, says The Hollywood Reporter.

Thor's new release date is June 17, 2011, moved from July 16, 2010, while The Avengers is now on course for a May 4, 2012 arrival having been originally planned for July 15, 2011.

Marvel Studios chairman David Maisel said that the change of dates are in order to space out the release of their solo superhero movies before uniting the characters for ensemble film The Avengers.

"[It] maximizes the visibility of our single-character-focused films, leading to the highly anticipated release of the multi-character The Avengers film in 2012," he explained.

Initial plans would have seen two Marvel movies out in 2010 (Iron Man 2 and Thor) and three the following year (The First Avenger: Captain America, Spider-Man 4 and The Avengers).

Captain America has also been shifted back two months to July 22, 2011, with Spider-Man 4 slotting into its old May 6 release date.

John Cena Shoots Down Captain America Casting Rumor

John Cena is an extraordinary athlete and great wrestler, but there is no way on God's green earth he has the acting chops to play Captain America. John goes on to say that any talk of him being up for, or taking meetings for the part of the Star Spangled Avenger is purely internet vapor.

"To kill the rumor, I was never contacted by anyone," Cena told MTV. "Usually when those rumors start it’s because someone in that community thinks that I would be okay for a role. I’m flattered that they think I could play Captain America and I would be up for it."

However, Cena does say he'd love to have a shot at the part.

Hard part to cast... You need someone that can carry the movie who also has the physique and a real strong jawed, 'apple pie' look. Physique can be changed, of course, but Captain America is such an icon... It's going to be really tough

teasers like that are pointless. if it was made by someone at marvel they probably just asked a design guy "could you do a cap teaser poster? don't spend too long it, you have a meeting in 30 minutes"

Robbins Rejected - Tim NOT in Iron Man 2

The rumor last December was about Tim Robbins playing Tony Stark's father in Iron Man 2. In this short video clip, Robbins tells CinemaBlend that the rumors are untrue. You just can't trust the Internets.

The story said Robbins would play Tony's daddy, and that he would play an important part setting up the Avengers and Captain America movies

Can "Captain America" Movie Beat Anti-Americanism?

When you have a country of people led by lunatic celebrities who converse with the nation's enemies, or citizens too scared to say they love America...does a movie about the ultimate patriot have a prayer?

Kevin Feige Lets Go Some Marvel Movie News

On Captain America, have they cast anyone yet? To which Kevin States:

"There are only a handful of stars that mean anything here much less overseas. But I do think that will be a factor in it. As long as we have the freedom to do so at Marvel….to just cast the best actor for the part whether it's an actor who's been a great actor, but hasn't starred in marquee action movies before like Downey or somebody that came out of Australia that they've never heard of," Feige states.

Kevin also threw out the Will Smith rumor for Cap and loves the "Truth" storyline, which revealed a black Captain America that pre-dated Steve Rogers.
                                Kevin goes on to say:

"I love the 'Truth' storyline. I think that's very cool. I wouldn't do that as a first Captain America movie though," Feige states "I think that (arc) came about four or five hundred issues in to the “Cap” run. I don't see launching with that comic."
