I've made further entries in the the Games, Pastimes And TV Shows and Animals And Plants game guides.

Please read these guides - they cover things which turned up in the thunk threads and were then forgotten as they were buried several hundred pages back. They could inspire role playing posts because they are part of our game world.

      Game discussion point.

Some Wraith characters who haven't been adopted by Worshippers are essential members of Boris's crew.

1: Archimedes - research scientist and inventor.

2: Hector - test pilot for vehicles which Archimedes invents. Also pilots the Yellow Submarine when tracking the Kraken

3: Jimmy - hive maintenance tech. Builds enclosures for the zoo, reconfigures rooms and corridors when needed etc.

A future player who has a Wraith game alter ego might want to adopt Zaddik as a Worshipper and he performs an essential role in the community as a herbalist.

Game discussion point - new rule for certain characters.

1: Adopted characters who perform an essential task in the game can't be taken home to live with Worshippers or on some other Wraith hive so they only visit the game world when their owners turn up in the GW forum to play.

2: The above is a condition attached to adopting those characters.

3: Permanent permission must be granted to certain players to role play this class of character when the players who have adopted them aren't participating in the game.

The reason behind this suggestion is that we could end up stuck where role playing is concerned as in these examples -

DS wants to role play getting more animals for the zoo. She needs Jimmy to build more enclosures but his Worshipper has taken him back to Earth and the player concerned hasn't been on for several days.

Players want their characters to visit Zaddik for something but he's been taken to another hive by the Queen who has adopted him as her Worshipper. The player concerned hasn't been on for several days.

That's a sensible suggestion. Those characters with an important function should be available for role playing at all times. After all, what would we do in case of an emergency need for Zaddick's hangover cure?

Rhys wouldn't be happy for a start.

Maybe the simplest way around it would be to say that certain characters can't be adopted as such but player's alter egos can build up relationships with them during the game. We can then state that these specialised characters can be permanently role played by you, me and Draygon because we're three of the game organisers. I could include the following characters as well -

1: Shawn because he's needed for running the kitchen/dining area, providing food for parties and baking cakes for special occasions. He also creates healthy and nutritious cakes and pastries for Kenny's Koffee Nirvana shops and this is related to the Kenny Hive role playing thread - his hive ship is where the Koffee Nirvana H.Q. is located.

2: Erik because he specialises in hacking into the Atlantis computers and main data base. If we ever need to find out what McKay might be up to Erik's the one who can investigate.

3: Ellia who is recognised as a Queen by Boris and most of his crew members. (Official crew members are currently unadopted SGA Wraith characters who live on Boris's Hive). The game guide says that players can adopt Wraith Queens or create a Wraith Queen game alter ego but Ellia must be recognised as the Primary in the game world. Queens with their own hive ships can make alliances with Ellia etc. Mar is currently in the process of doing this with her newly adopted Queen, Akasha.

4: Neo and Fred because they're behind all the fun mayhem that goes on such as water pistol fights.

5: Gawain because his character guide says - He's reliable and helpful so the Wraith to ask if you need assistance with setting up a party or require food and equipment ferried to a location. He's also in charge of culling expeditions but these are few and far between now that Boris's Hive has a cloning facility.

6: Jean-Luc, at least for the moment. He once served on Akasha's hive and had a part to play in the current Akasha/Boris/Ellia alliance plot. He might be needed again.

Just thought of another one -

7: Boris because he's the commander of Boris's Hive.

That would be all of your boys, plus Ellia and Jean-Luc. Make sure you have always one of them left for yourself to role play, otherwise you could end up wraithless.

But it would make things easier because they are all important for developing stories. We can always be sure that if life should get boring Fred and Neo come up with something amusing.

When I'm online I can role play whichever of my boys are needed for a specialised function at the time. If I have to go shopping, am not feeling well or RL gets in the way by other means, you or Draygon could take them over to keep the role playing going (as long as one or other of you are online at the time, of course). If I've 'explained' my absence in the game by saying that Boris and Ciannwn have gone somewhere quiet for a bit of Worshipping, for example, he can still be contacted by telepathy or personal communicator if he's essential for something and he'll return to his Commander duties. A ship's captain has to be on call 24/7. Star Trek's Picard was often dragged out of bed in the middle of the night because of an emergency.

                Hive 95 stopping in...

Game setup looks pretty solid right now. We'll really need to keep our integrity and continuity in check. As people will really notice plot holes and time warps very easily. ^.^

Everything looks great so far though. Good work people!

We've found that the Sith are very useful as a way of explaining this kind of thing. If there's a time warp or plot hole it's all their fault. An inept wizard wandering in from TPD-123 could be the cause of other strange anomalies.

I'd like to say thank you to Ciannwn for all her hard work in setting this new RPG up and hope that all her efforts are rewarded by everyone enjoying some great role playing games and stories.

However, I'd like to point out that The Chill-out Hive thread to this game is slightly different in that RL plays a much bigger role there and the inhabitants of this hive are not always going to be in the "role play" mind set. We will not have an ongoing story with a plot line - we just make it up as we go along!

The purpose of the Chill-out hive is just that: to chill out and relax.

As such there are not so many "rules"... you don't have to knock, just come on in and pull up a recliner... talk about whatever you want to talk about... that includes real life if getting something off your chest will help you to relax!... post pics or drawings of pretty wraith (any wraith)... post fanfics now and then if they're relevant and not TOO long... admire each other's siggies (especially when our boys try to upstage each other and manipulate their siggies to try to tell us something!)... if you really, really want to have a food fight, take it down the corridor so the recliners don't get sticky...

In other words just use your common sense - and if you get a bit over-exhuberant, don't take offense if TP or SW butts in and tells you to dial it down a bit!
Of course if you ignore us, then we'll have to call on the drones!

Bring your wraithie partner(s) with you and enjoy everything the hive has to offer - spas, massage, alternative therapies, saunas, jaccuzzis, we have the works - or just snuggle down for an evening of soothing wraithie purring. If you want to take it further respect others and go get a room - the Chill-out Hive has plenty to go round, equiped to suit all tastes - within PG guidelines, of course!

Our only real "rule" is: Todd and Steve are ours! You can look but don't touch - at least not without our permission!!!
                    sigpic
Thanks to Draco-Stellaris for the gorgeous Todd avatar

Game Update. These characters I'm running are now Essential Characters who can be role played by Draco-Stellaris and Draygon if I'm not around. This should make role playing more flexible.

1: Boris. Even if game Ciannwn has taken him off somewhere for a bit of relaxation and Worshipping he can be recalled if the hive's Commander is needed. He'll have a personal communicator with him at all times so any character who can't use telepathy can contact him by this method.

2: Erik. If you want to know what's happening on Atlantis he can hack into the expedition's computer system for you. He can also make things with the Matter Converter and invent new equipment.

3: Archimedes. Inventions specialist who can come up with equipment and vehicles. Also makes things with the Matter Converter.

3: Jimmy. Hive maintenance tech who builds enclosures for the zoo.

4: Neo. He can start a crazy, fun activity.

5: Fred. He can start a crazy, fun activity.

6: Gawain. Helpful and practical. Wraith to ask if you need assistance with setting up a party or require food and equipment ferried to a location. He's also in charge of culling expeditions but these are few and far between now that Boris's Hive has a cloning facility.

                        7. Gabriel. Runs the Atlantis Personnel Takeaway.

                        8. Shawn. Cooking, birthday cake maker. Runs the ordinary food catering for the hive. Creates healthy, nutritious recipes for the Koffee Nirvana shops.

9: Zaddik. Herbalist for the hive and island communities. His products include shampoo, hair conditioner, hair dyes, hangover cure tea, calming tea, herbal remedies for many ailments.

10: Ellia. Charges crystals with calming or healing energy depending on what's required. Has a calming, relaxing way about her so is good for helping with any character who is going through a difficult time. Her biscuits often come in handy too.

11: Fern. Licks faces and covers them with dog slobber. Sticks a big, cold wet nose in ears. Digs very big holes on the beach and sends large quantities of sand flying everywhere. Gets soaking wet in the sea, comes out and shakes herself so anyone nearby get soaked too. Loves playing fetch a stick. Also good for tracking anyone who has gone missing in the jungle and isn't communicating.

I'll update the Character Owners Guide in the next day or two. Until then this is official permission for Draco-Stellaris and Draygon to role play the above.

Forgot to add this one to the Essential Characters list. Draygon and Draco-Stellaris have permanent permission to role play him as well.

Hector - test pilot for vehicles which Archimedes invents. Also pilots the Yellow Submarine when tracking the Kraken

Just wanted to add Kit to the list of essential characters, seeing as we never know when we'll need some toddler madness. I think DS's picture sums up what I mean by that
DS and ciannwn have perminant permision to Role-play him.
If found, is probably lost on the way to Azaroth or the Pegasus Galaxy
