we have seen them be able to manipulate anything and everything
Time, Memorys, atoms, create energy and matter from nothing.
the biggest thing we have ever seen the ancients do was the recreation of abydos but that was only a temporary illusion.
we have seen the Q remove entire species from history with just snaps of there fingers because they deemed it necesary (startrek books never in series)
not to mention they could just go back into the ancients past and ooops nope you guys cant ascend sorry

That's kind of unfair considering that the we have never seen the 'true' power of the Ascended Ancients. They were prevented to do so by their 'golden rule.' Personally, you we can't say because we haven't seen the full power of the Ancients.
There are no regrets. Thank you Brad Wright and everyone else for SGU, and the amazing Stargate franchise in general.
Due to them being in pretty much control of the whole universe whereas the ancients only seem to control things now and dont have as much power. However, as Orion Coran pointed out we havent seen the true power of the ancients.
Richard Dean Anderson has the same birthday as me 23rd of January
The Q would own the Ascended collective, they've shown so much more power. They can snap their fingers and do almost anything. There is no contest.
Robert Jastrow (self-proclaimed agnostic): "For the scientist who has lived by his faith in the power of reason, the story ends like a bad dream. He has scaled the mountains of ignorance; he is about to conquer the highest peak; as he pulls himself over the final rock, he is greeted by a band of theologians who have been sitting there for centuries."
Well, I hate to say this, but from what we've seen at the moment the Q would win.
But it's hard to tell, since we don't know the full extent of the Ancients' powers. It could go either way. We may never know, since they never interfere.
The Q are Omnipotent and Omniscient, they're as close to GODS as any Sci-fi series is comfortable portraying.
The ascended ancients, while admittedly INCREDIBLY powerful (Even factoring the Ori) would only be able to put up a token fight.
Even if bu some strange measure they posed a threat to ONE Q, the Continuum would step up and end the battle before it began in the easiset way possible, by removing the ancients ability to ascend in the first place.

Ouch, that's harsh. But it is something the Q would do, we all know.

Exactly. Well said. Personally, I won't make a decision. Your statement is the reason why.
