there was a great nod to sg on aqua teen hunger force in an episode called 'universal remonster.' two aliens from pluto decide to steal the aqua teen's cable and use two stargates to run the line from the aqua teen's basement to their ship.
after being accused of using the stargate to steal cable, emory (with a hilarious german accent) says "we have successfully travelled eons across both space and time through the fargate...to get free cable!"
oglethorpe: "i....i think it's called the star...gate."
emory: "it is the fargate, not stargate...F! it's different from that movie, which i have never seen...so how would i copy it?"
oglethorpe: "chill man...it's alright, let's just turn it on."
emory: "i just want to make it clear that it is the fargate...goes far, get it? there is no way it came from that movie...or that syndicated series based on the movie."
oglethorpe: "but....but it sure was a good movie"
emory: "yah it was...turn on the tv, maybe it's on!"
emory: "where is the universal remonster?!"
oglethorpe: "uh....he just went through the stargate."
emory: "it is a fargate! from the makers of findependence day!"
tonight's sealab had a more subtle sg reference. in the middle of the episode a minitiature stargate was sitting on a table, and a squad of tiny jaffa marched out of it and started firing their staff weapons randomly.
anyone catch either?
