What is NaNoWriMo?

National Novel Writing Month. Essentially it is a challenge (international, rather than national) for aspiring writers to bash out 50,000 words in a month, specifically November. This is my second successful year in a row, so if next year doesn't happen I can at least know that it was not a fluke the first time around.
