Alternate Sheppard's Fate (Spoiler for end of Vegas)

First I would like to say I am not against this episode. I just think it was the wrong place in the season to do it. But mainly... And here's the spoiler:

Sheppard dies at the end of this episode!

I know it's technically not 'our' Sheppard but for all us whump fans this is a major development. I was practically jumping up and down in my seat. But it was sad.

Anybody else have thoughts on the alternate Sheppard's fate?

Didn't die!! Nope the jets blew up the trailer and sent in an evac chopper and John was rescued and had emergency surgery and all that E.R crap and he lived "HAPPILY" ever after on Atlantis!!!

Lets not forget the massive radiation that most probably covered the immediate area around the blast. This leads me to believe that Sheppard died regardless.

No, as fumblesmcstupid said, Sheppard is alive and well, recuperating in Florida on a beach. You didn't know that Sheppard was a mutant hybrid that was immune to gunshot wounds and radiation?

Sorry, I still think he died. What I'm mad about is that our Shepperd has gone on countless sucide missions, and they would never think of actually bringing him that close to death with out making it an illusion at the end. No, if it was our John he wouldn't have been shot but enjoying himself in Florida.

The episode ended in a way that the viewer could decide what happened to Sheppard.

The ending is a tad enigmatic. Though the choice of music (Solitary Man) did sort of imply that he was alone...

Pretty sure he died. The whole Todd scene was foreshadowing, what with the dying in the desert part.
