Same design as Seasons 1-5 of Atlantis and later Seasons 9-10 of SG-1 except it will be purple instead of blue (Milky Way) and green (Pegasus).

It would make sense since it looks like purple is the 'color' of the series.

There are no regrets. Thank you Brad Wright and everyone else for SGU,
and the amazing Stargate franchise in general.

Purple. It can do any sort of modern stuff, so long as its purple.

does that mean that the event horizon will have a hint of purple, since the event horison on the pegasus gates have a hint of green.

Did I miss something? Where is everyone getting that Universe is going to have a purple color scheme? I mean, I know there's some graphics on GateWorld featuring some purple coloring just to be able to have a visual distinction between the series, but I'm pretty sure there's no official word on that yet.

    True, no official word.

But pretty much everything associated with Universe has been purple. Check out the MGM site; the official logo is purple.

    Interesting - I hadn't seen that before.

My issue with purple, besides it not being a favorite color of mine, is that it seems too much like a stamp reading "Property of SciFi."

just had an interesting though, will the Stargate even be used much in Universe? i mean, the whole thing is set on a ship jumping between realities right? Just dont see how the Stargate would be able to be used much.

but if it is, i just hope it's back to the good ol' blue wormhole.

    O'Neill: Yes. Yes it did.
    Woolsey: What does that mean?
    O'Neill: Something exploded...

GW: Does the Destiny have a gate? Let's put it that way. [Laughter]

MG: Oh absolutely. That's the center of the ship. Absolutely. And it plays a critical role. I'd love to tell you but you're going to have to wait and tune in.

    No, galaxies.

I think either you made a typo just not thinking about it, got confused, etc. No biggie though. But yeah, the Destiny will be 'jumping' between galaxies.

gero said that the stargate is at the center of the ship and it is a major role in sgu...

i think its major reason is to do with 9th chevron... perhaps it ads functionality to the hyper drive or something like that so it is faster to jump to different galaxies... or even jump to different realities

    just spit balling

I think you're taking what he said too literally, I think he means that whatever goes on on the ship, the gate is always at the centre of it.
