Who whould think that Travellers ship could take out O'Neill or Daniel Jackson -class ships? And sure mw Asgard could turn on Attero-device by itself.

I don't think a travellers ship could take out an O'Neill, they are good but not that good. The Asgard ships in this episode were basically cobbled together, and not as good as their original ships which were destroyed by the Wraith. This lot of Asgard have spent their time trying to survive, not building powerful ships like their MW brothers.sigpic

What makes you think that the PG Asgard ships even compared to the MW Asgards? They are not even close to the same.

The problem was that the tech was far superior in some areas and grossly ineffective in others. To have a ship that can penetrate ancient shields and that device that dropped them through all of the floors in Atlantis, but to not have ship weaponry capable of taking out that traveler ship, or shields capable of repelling the traveler attack was, in my opinion, a glaring plot weakness.

If the writers make the asgard weapons or shields too strong, they would have no reason to fear the Wraith so much, and there would be no need to use the device.
What the writers should do is to make the asgards ship much smaller, maybe only slightly larger than the jumper, afterall these asgards only have one planet they must be limited in terms of resources. This way they can have better technology but still outgunned by big ships like Wraith or the traveller.
On the other hand, Stargate series always did have a problem with wrong ship sizes, oh well.

I would have expected a Traveller ship to take out 1 of those large 'puddlejumper' ships, but not 2, and it would taken out 3.
O'Neill class? Forget about it, it would have taken out several Traveller ships at once, rather easily.
Since these Asgard were 'trapped' in their planet, they are just venturing out again, thus their ships are relatively primitive, more for exploaration, not combat. But they still have those massive Asgard brains = they will have far better ships, especially now that they know the Wraith are fractured. The Asgard in the 'MW' were able to counteract Ori ships pretty quickly, same goes for Annubis Ancient upgraded ships.

It's pointless to build an O'Neill class ship just so you can fly around your solar system or planet. ESPECIALLY when you don't want the Wraith to know of your location, or the fact that you're even still alive.
But yes, they were technologically inferior to the MW Asgards. They may have been able to build a very capable ship, but they had no reason to.
