    Ava?

SHEPPARD: Well, maybe we can upload her, or it, or whatever this thing is into a virtual reality like we did with Ava.
When Sheppard was talking about uploading Weir into a Virtual Reality who was he talking about when he mentioned someone named "Ava?" Did I miss an episode?

In "Outcast" they uploaded the consciousness of a human-made replicator named Ava into VR.

I guess I know which episode is next for me. I don't remember that at all. *closes down window with "Ghost in the Machine" and reaches for me season 4 DVDs*

Now that I've watched it again I guess the REAL question is: Why did they forbid Ava from taking any job in a science field? Her "body" was scrapped and they could have monitored what she was doing and use her research in the VR to develop new technologies. Who knows what a human made "Replicator" could come up with using our own tech?

Well, I assume they wanted her to think it was actually real and not just VR. If it were real, something like that would make sense.

I suppose that that makes sense. But with her having such a massive intellect don't you think she'll realize it eventually? After all it is logical to assume that her intellect is much more sophisticated than the mindless machine she's inhabiting. Something is bound to be odd about her life I'm sure.
