    Why Couldn't ...

Why couldn't we have Teyla, Ronon, and Rodney off-world in this episode with Shep and Carson? To me, what's the real point of bringing back Carson if he doesn't get to interact with his friends, because one of my favourite parts of his character is his relationships with them. It just seems rather ... stupid to me.

Was it just to flaunt the female team? To make Carson and Shep act like a pair of frat boys? That was so out of character for Carson. Like, my boy does not do that, clone or not. Stop. Messing. With my characters.

Was it just to kill someone? Show how dark and risky they could be? Was it because McKay, Teyla and Ronon aren't hot enough? Do they not appeal to the male adolescent demographic?

    Just ... why?

I imagine the other actors were working on their big episodes.

Maybe because they were busy. And could not be available for this episode. And they were not needed, not in any sense, it was just a simple escort for Becket. The team does not have to go every where with eachother. They can do things on their own.
And, the character is not yours, it is the writers. To do with as they please. You may disagree with how they choose to utilize that character. But do not claim them to be your own.

          Interesting.

It seemed to me, during the episode, that deBour's character was sure to be killed off. The main reason being that Carson took a shine to her. In horror that means you're about to die. So when she left the cabin for no reason I thought they'd find her dead, since she left for no reason. But, no. She was hiding behind a barrel. Having left the cabin for no reason.

Then I thought she'd been turned somehow into one of the zombies, since she was acting a little oddly. Especially when she opted to stay behind and not go back into the lab. But, no. She just has a run in with the remaining zombies. And escapes. Somehow. I wonder if she was supposed to be the one who bought it in that episode and when they cast deBour, they changed it.

To me this episode is one of those missions that happens when we are not watching. The information that they found wasnt discussed much in this episode and the characters reactions to the outside events didnt seem to be much like them @ all.

Many of these strange actions have been mentioned in previous posts.

why the actors from shep's team didn't appear...I'm not sure. Perhaps it would have been too many in the cast when JM added his all chick team as means of addressing the gender imbalance of SGA.

Get a grip. Taking a tantrum over nothing. It freshened it up a little. The episode was great.

Or maybe the episode had more to do with Carson's relationship with Sheppard(and Shep looking out for Cars). Not every episode has to have the full cast.

Personally I found it to be a breath of fresh air, like all non-main plot or team-exploring episodes are.

Actually, according to Joe M., Teldy was the one who was meant to buy it, but they decided to change it to Vega, because you'd be expecting the badass leader to die, to show you no one's safe, and since a few of us assumed Vega would be around a lot longer, thanks to the buildup they gave her.

Actually I wasnt expecting anyone to die that early, least of all Tedly. Leaders are meant to be the smarter ones that dont die, that is why they are leaders. Isn't it?

I suppose. I have to admit I was hoping before the episode aired that Teldy would die...I'm a bit irrational, I don't like an actor if they play a character I don't like, and after I saw her on Blood Ties...Anyway, I changed my mind about wanting her gone during the episode, though I still thought it would happen.
