Come to Belgium... the temp's only... *checks cellphone*... 59° F -- partly cloudy.

It rained cats and dogs earlier today -- just when I wanted to go and get something to eat at the corner shop. But then had to wait till the thunderstorm passed, after which I had lunch and spend the rest of my free lunch hour in a nearby parc. Felt water in my shoes only once, much to my colleague's delight who went walking with me... We were obviously wet when we returned to the office -- not soaked but just a little splashed wet.

      OMG that sounds wonderful!

I love rain (but not lightning - have an unnatural fear of it since I was a little girl).

That feeling of wet shoes isn't terribly pleasant, though!

Oh dear. JT-2 is right, there's gonna be a lot of emergency room visits in the future...

Ewww. I like many things about summer, but not the hot temperatures. We're supposed to be in the near 80s over the weekend and into early next week. Not looking forward to it.

Yay, rain! That's one of the things I do like about summer... summer storms!

Sparky is on screen. Therefore, it is canon. Elizabeth is still out there. And John WILL bring her home.

We've been upper 80s, low 90s with a lot of humidity. It's really the humidity that sucks the worst. My poor air conditioner is trying its best, but it just can't compete.

We need rain here in a bad way. So many areas of the country have too much water, while we really need it. It's too bad we can't transport the water somehow.

Good morning, Sparkies! Happy Lazy Sunday! (Not so lazy for me; got up early to wash my car before the sun got too high.)

Ugh, humid heat really does suck.

We're actually in a drought condition all up and down the West Coast (I know, even in the Pacific Northwest? Yep.), and the poor trees are really begging for water. We're supposed to get some rain mid-week, but it's still going to be a drop in the bucket compared to what we need.

Since you washed your car, it is sure to rain.

That's actually a real law of nature...

When mankind has washed car, rain shall follow... and so it shall be.

LOL, yep! We've even got a slight (very very slight) chance of showers today, but the clouds are clearing off right now, so I think that slight has just become nonexistent.

                      *glomps you*

The real problem is that both my conservative brother and my liberal nephew-in-law think that issues are black and white, and of course they are the ones 100% correct.

On the car ride back home, my brother continued to try to make his point to me but I refused to engage with him. That's what I generally do with both of them.

I love a good political discussion but a lot of people today, at least online, can't say anything without profanity or personal insults and neither side actually listens to what others have to say. Plus it's all based on emotion. Nobody seems to remember history and all lack a basic understanding of economics.

We have one simple rule at family gatherings -- everything is fair game except politics.
We have the socialist party well represented, and the catholic democratic party... there's a good mix of these two parties in our family so whenever politics are discussed we more or less agree on everything considering their programs are not too far apart. But then other programs are discussed from other parties and it all goes to hell in a handbasket.

                          So, no politics...

I like a good discussion too, but only when both sides are willing to listen AND be willing to agree to disagree. Those 2 are both rigid in their thinking. Like I said, black and white - no shades of gray. I love them both, but they make the rest of the family feel tired. Last Thanksgiving, my niece and I both just left them and went into another room and started talking to each other.

We say we won't get into politics or religion (the other hot button issue between the generations), but it somehow ends up happening anyway.

No such problem in my family. We all totally agree on most everything from politics to religion. My husband's family is another story but nobody is a raving loon.

Since I can't multi quote, I have to do this.

So anyway, as far as I am concerned there is no gray. Truth is truth, so if you and I ever meet we'll talk about SGA only. LOL However, all opinions must be treated with a gracious attitude and not judged. I never try to change anyone's mind. I just silently bless their hearts and move on.
