An Evolutionary Change: A Future Stargate RPG

Alrightly, this RPG is officially underway! As soon as I do the opening post. Anyway, you all know who you're RPing so, please get into character. The previous thread will probably just be transformed into an ooc thread, but the offical RPing, will be done in here. Here's a link to the old thread.

    http://forum.gateworld.net/showthread.php?t=55714

    Now let's begin!

IC: The year is 2058. For 40 years the Stargate and the Stargate Program has been known to the public after the defeat of the Lucian Alliance. People are living longer and healthier lives, although medical and technological advancements have been slow going. Still, the SGC and the government are controlling technological and medical advances, afraid that they might cause another civil world war (the first one happened just after the Stargate was made public). Now another threat arises, and the government must bring their best people back into the fold…

    Outskirts of Colorado Springs, Colorado

It was a beautiful April afternoon and Matt Sullivan was making his way down towards the local mall, hoping to get some food. Matt was either planning doing one of two things. One, either steal some money to pay for the food, or two, steal the food itself. As he neared the mall, the brown haired, blue eyed, 21 year old saw people running from the mall in a panic. Confused, Matt was about to ask someone what was going on when he saw an orange glow coming from the mall. “What the hell?” Matt asked himself as he started towards the glowing building. If the mall was on fire, Matt hoped he could help put it out. Some people called him stupid and an idiot as he ran, but he didn’t care. Once he was close enough, Matt saw a man, who was essentially making the nearby building catch one fire. “Hey! What the hell is going on here?!” Matt exclaimed as he neared the man. All of a sudden Matt could feel himself starting to burn. Looking down, Matt’s hands were burning almost the same color as the man.

“Well now, it looks like we got a hero on our hands,” the man said, smiling, and finally noticing Matt. The man’s smile grew even wider as he saw Matt’s hands glowing as well. “I guess I’m not the only one,” the man said.

“What are you talking about? Who are you?” Matt asked, almost in a panic as he soon started to set the mall on fire itself.

“It looks like you can do what I can do,” the man answered Matt’s first question. He was about answer Matt’s second question when the sounds of sirens came closer to the two. “I guess I’ll take my leave. I’ll let you explain this to the authorities and to the military,” he told Matt. “By the way, the name’s Kevin,” he said as he started to take off. “See ya around!” Kevin shouted from the distance.

Matt was confused and was even more confused when his hands stopped glowing. At this time, Matt was grabbed by rescuers and haled out of the area as firefighters started to put out the flame. Once at a safe distance, Matt was approached by what seemed like military personal, which were armed with guns.

“Please come with us Mr. Sullivan,” one of male officers said to Matt. Matt turned around and was about to take off when he was shot and knocked unconscious. “Put him in the back of the truck and draw some blood,” the man ordered the other members of his team. Who picked up Matt and placed him in the back of a nearby truck.

About 30 minutes later, Matt suddenly snapped his eyes open, looking around at four military personal who had their hands on their guns, just incase something were to happen. Matt also realized that he was handcuffed. “Hey guys… What’s going on?” Matt asked nervously.

“Don’t worry Mr. Sullivan, we’re taking you to a safe place,” the man before spoke. “You’re very special,” he said.

Matt sat there for a moment, trying to think. He didn’t want to go to wherever they were taking him, so he only had one option, escape.

“Well boys, this is my stop, see ya,” Matt said with a two-fingered salute as he took a chance and jumped out of the back of the truck, landing on the ground below. Almost instantly, Matt was up and running and within seconds, he was gone.

The men didn’t believe what Matt said, so they were surprised when the young man jumped out of the truck. The truck suddenly stopped and the men jumped out. Looking around, the men couldn’t find Matt anywhere.

“Radio the general,” the main man ordered. “Tell him that we lost Sullivan.”

    ---------------------------------------

General Fox sat in his office at the SGC, he was working on paperwork when his secretary came in and told him who was on the line. Picking up the phone, Fox spoke. “Fox here.”

“General, I’m sorry to report that Sullivan has gotten away,” the main soldier said with worry in his voice.

General Fox sighed. He actually wanted Matt Sullivan brought in alive. Now that he was missing, Fox was going to have to bring in somebody a lot sooner then possible. “Did you obtain a blood sample?” Fox asked the man.

“Yes sir,” the man said, the worry starting to leave his voice.

“I want you to take the blood sample to Lieutenant General Samantha Carter and have her study it. Even though she’s retired, she’ll still be interested and willing to help us,” Fox ordered the man. “I also want a bulletin out for Sullivan. I want him found!”

    “Yes sir!” The man said.

“And Major, if you mess up again, I will have to report you. Understood?” Fox said to the major in a harsh tone.

“Understood!” The major exclaimed as Fox hung up the phone. He then gave his men their orders.

    ---------------------------------------

    Colorado Springs, Colorado

30 minutes later, a black, unmarked van pulled up to the home of retired Lieutenant General Samantha Carter. The major and one other man stepped out of the van and walked up to Samantha’s front door. Ringing the doorbell, the two men waited for a minute as Samantha Carter opened up the door.

“Yes? Can I help you?” Samantha asked, looking at the two men.

“Lieutenant General Carter, my name is Major Harold Douglas and this is Lieutenant Benjamin Steele,” the major introduced himself. “We’re here under orders of Major General Fox,” Douglas said to Samantha. “We need your expertise on the Ancient Gene,” he said, looking at the woman.

Liz woke up as the sun came in the window of the samll apartment she lived in. With a glance to her alarm clock she got up and dressed. She then walked downstairs tot he Cafe she worked at. The couple who owned the Cafe were nice enough to let her live above it.

She opened the Cafe's doors and began to drag some of the small metal Bistro tables and chairs out onto the side walk. Although it was still early, she could tell it was going to be a hot day. She lookd around her at the centruries old buildigs and went back inside.

She began making the coffee and getting out the pastries from the back.

Around lunch time two men in Air Force uniforms walked in.

"Good afternoon Gentlemen, what can I get you?"

"Are you Liz Pemberley?" the one asked.

    "Yes."

"We need you to come with us Miss."

"What is this about?" the middle aged woman who took her in asked.

    "I'm afraid that's classified ma'am."

Liz glanced at the kind woman who took her in and she nodded. She handed over her apron and followed them out of the Cafe.

Hiroshi had finished the night quite abruptly as he noticed that the city's police stepped up the search him. He had just barely gotten out of the northern side of the city's rooftops before they sent in a helicopter to investigate some mild disturbance of a local gang that had been mopped up all in one place. They had all been severly beaten and injured from an invisible assilant.

Sighing as he put the last of his equipment into a black suit case with his black trench coat folded neatly on top, he noticed someone talking down stairs in the living room.

Hurrying to see who it was, Hiroshi closed the suit case, lifted it and mechanically walked over to a large, opened safe that was partially filled with other necessities. The case fit perfectly as he shoved it in and closed the large pentagonal safe door. He then hid the safe by sliding a large portrait of a Samuria in redish, black armor.

As he made his way down the stairs Hiroshi stopped short when he heard the men talking to his younger sister, Kim.

"So what else can you tell us about your brother Miss Takahashi?" Asked one of the men in shades.

        "Please, Kim."

The man ever so slightly nodded and apologized, "Excuse me, Kim. Can you tell us anything. Anything at all about your brother?"

"He likes to cook." Replied Kim. Man... she new how to pick'em, thought Hiroshi.

"Well we know that, and yes we know he's a martial arts trainer and we went to his work, and we weren't able to find him." Said the man. "But do you know whether he does anything peculiar at night? Anything that might seem strange to you?"

Kim's face hardend and suddenly relaxed, "Other than coming home completely exhausted from training a bunch of kooks who think martial arts is something easy and coming into my bedroom and telling me to wash his clothes... ummm.. nope. Nothing at all." She said firmly and with a hint of sarcasm.

The two men in suits glanced at each other, half not sure, the other half wondering whether she was telling the truth at all.

"Well then Miss Kim. We apologize for disturbing you today." Replied conventionally the man in shades.

        "Kim." She said agitated.

"Sorry, it slipped. Kim. Have a good day."

"You too." She said back as the two men in black suits walked out of the large apartment and into the street and driving off in a black, unmarked van.

"Nice work." Said Hiroshi as he walked from the side of the stairs that were hidden by a wall, as he was making his way easily down the steps.

Shaking her head uncomfortably, "Look, I don't know whether they'll be back or not, but I can't cover for you like this anymore. These men in suits are always so dang sophistacted they find some other lame excuse or reason for coming back."

Noticing her slight action of worry for him, Hiroshi stepped beside her and answered, "You won't have to." He said, then giving her a warm hug.

Kim's arms rapped around his waist and kissed him on the cheek. "Besides, I need a big brother who can do some of my cooking." She said chuckling.

Smiling at his sister's approval, he went on to tell her the rest of his statement, "Listen, umm... I'm going to have to leave for awhile and I may not get back until a long time. Maybe a couple of months, but you know I'll come back. I always do."

Hit by unexpected news, Kim began to back away from him, "What do you mean leave?" She Inquired.

Hiroshi sighed, trying to think of a good way to answer her to where she'd understand, "Eh... I have to go because of security reasons and some other mishaps that have ocurred that I need to clear up before they go hay higher. You know how it is with me Kim... theres just to-"

"There's just to much what? What were you going to say huh?" She asked abruptly.

"Kim please, lemme explain. Its not what you think it is." He protested.

"Sure, whatever. Good'ol Hiroshi goes out and fights crime 'at night.' She said quote, quote. "There's not much to explain is there. You have to leave because some people may have figured out who you are. Now your running away." Kim was already trying her best not to burst into tears while trying to keep her voice low that rose every few seconds.

Hiroshi was desperate and answered, "Kim. It'll be alright. Kevin will look after you while I'm gone and he knows how to manage the money situation and all. So do you. I've taught you two everything that I can teach you. Its not my fault that this has happened to me at the the wrong time at the wrong place. Look, I'll come back in five months. I promise." He said softly to Kim.

She began to cry, tears sweaping down her cheeks. "You promise?" She said weeping.

Stepping closer to her, he drew her into her arms and answered, "I promise."

Liz was lead to an unmarked black SUV by the two officers.

"Look, I haven't done anything wrong."

          "We know Miss Pemberely."

          "Then what is this about?"

          "Please get in the vehicle."

Reluctantly Liz climbed into the SUV. Inside was a female officer.

"Hello Miss Pemberely, we need to take a blood sample if you don't mind," the woman said.

"A blood sample? What do you need that for?" Liz was getting suspicious. After all, what could the Air Force want with 22-year-old runaway.

The woman took out a needle and syringe and went to grab Liz's arm, but Liz pulled away.

"I don't think so. Who are you people anyway?"

One of the men pulled out a Wraith stunner, "Hey wait!" The man fired it and Liz slumped against the seat.

Vala half walked half limped towards the marketplace. She made her way to a fountain where a young man stood not paying attention to his suroundings.

          "Hello there," Vala smiled.

"Miss Mal Doran, you said you have some merchandise for me?"

"Yes, I do." Vala pulled out what appeared to be a gold necklace.

"This once belonged to the Goa'uld Quetesh." The man took it from her and began to examine it.

Two other men approached them carrying Earth weappons.

          "Mrs. Jackson," the one said.

Vala turned around and smiled, "Hello boys. I was just thinking of buying this beautiful neclace from this man..."

"Save it Mrs. Jackson. We have orders to bring you back to Earth."

"I'm just here visiting an old friend, I'm sure the SGC could use you for something other bringing home and old lady like me."

"General Fox told us to find you and bring you home. Your expertise is needed."

Vala sighed. "Fine." She went to take her necklace back from the other man, but he was gone, scared off by the two SGC personel.

"Is there a problem, Miss Jackson?" One of the SGC personal asked, as Vala turned around to face the direction of the man who used to be there. Normally he and his partner would go after the man, but they were under strict orders to bring Vala back to Earth as soon as possible. Apparently Vala's expertise was valuable, but the officer didn't see it that way. All he saw that he was escorting an older woman back to Earth and that was it. The man waited for Vala's reply to his question.

Once Daniel was in the elevator, the officer pressed a button, the doors slid shut, and the elevator began to descend.

"Dr. Jackson, in all of your time researching the Ancients, did you find anything about them gaining special powers before ascending?" The main officer asked Daniel as the elevator continued to descend towards their destination, the SGC.

"Well sir, to be honest, this is nothing we've ever seen before," the man mentioned as the elevator came to a stop at level 27. The doors slid open as the man allowed Daniel to exit.

"Dr. Jackson," another man said once Daniel stepped off the elevator. "Lt. Colonel Ray Cosgrove," he said, introducing himself. "I've read a lot about you," Ray said to Daniel, before turning to the other man. "That'll be all Sergeant."

"Yes sir," the sergeant replied, turned and walked off.

Something new? Just when i was expecting life to get dull. He chuckles. I'm afraid I can't forward any opinions without knowing what's going on in the first place.

Of course Doctor, General Fox is in charge, he will brief everyone personaly.

Everyone? So you've got some other people on this? What is it this time? MIT? CAL? They get younger an dyounger every year.

The Colonel smiles at the irony of the statement.

                      No, experts in the field.

Understood? Good. Fox, out," the general said over the phone, before hanging it up and turning his attention over to Daniel and the Colonel.

"General Fox, this is Daniel Jackson. Dr. Jackson, this is Major General Red Fox," Cosgrove said, introducing the men.

"Ah yes, Dr. Jackson, I'm glad you could come," Fox said, motioning for Daniel to sit down.

White Stone, New York City, New York

Treading down 3rd Avenue, Hiroshi carried a sizeable backpack with all the needs that he deemed necessary for his long awaited trek and quest and also two swords tied to his back. He had left his brother Kevin in charge in his stead to watch over the apartment and his sister Kim. He had hugged them goodbye just moments ago, now he was ten miles away, making his way to Highway 678. His goal was to cross over Bronx Whitestone Bridge and over into Ferry Point Park for the night and rest at a friend’s house by Brush Avenue.

He new that in order to cross over so much bare land, he’d have to do it at night. Which was the reason why he had left at six o’clock in the evening. The sun was beginning to set. It was only a matter of time before night reached, and it was already evident for the sky began to darken and takes its place for the day.

Finally after several minutes of walking, he reached to Francis Lewis Park, where he new that it wasn’t safe either, but he had to make it across and onto the large Highway Bridge that crossed into Ferry Point Park. As he neared the end of the park and onto the bridge, he heard something. He looked about him and saw nothing. Even with his night vision, he still saw nothing out of the ordinary. But with the already night sky, Hiroshi was already becoming wary about him. There was something following him, he just new it. Crossing the Bridge proved to be more difficult than anticipated. There was more traffic as he continued across the bridge’s sidewalk. Many homeless people were coming across after having spent a day in the park. What Hiroshi didn’t understand was the reason why they went there in the first place.

As Hiroshi neared the end of the Bridge, he quickly sidestepped on the side of the road and into the grass. That same feeling he had earlier churned his belly as he got closer into the wooded area of the park.

There was a sudden snap of a twig over to his left. I new it, he thought.
Hiroshi’s instincts kicked in and he slowly walked over to a tree, pretending as if he were taking a leak. He used his night vision and peered about, acting as if he was trying to avoid anyone seeing him. ‘Relieving’ himself, Hiroshi spotted three heat signatures six yards down in front of him. He also spotted five more from in back.

He carefully proceeded forward, walking slower this time. Approaching the position of the three heat signatures he had identified, a man in black, grayish armor stepped out from behind the tree. The soldier blocked Hiroshi’s path, having an exotic rifle that had a shape of a small spear but glowed luminescent blue.

                            “Halt!” Commanded the soldier.

“Sorry.” Was Hiroshi’s reply as he swiftly kicked the rifle of the soldiers’ aside and then slamming his fist in the man’s face, knocking the soldier out cold.

The other soldiers Hiroshi had spotted came rushing out the bushes or from the sides of trees, all firing at will with the strange guns. The energy from the weapons was plasma blue; making a whizzing sound as they shot passed him. Hiroshi ran, jumped on the side of tree, then another, landed on a branch, and propelled himself upside up perfectly like an animal instinctively onto the tree. The other seven men fired at Hiroshi where he stood on a large branch. He summoned his ability and extended his forearm swiftly. Darkness and shadow enveloped them. They scram and fell about on the ground, trying to get whatever was on them off. Which was the blackness Hiroshi had convened. He jumped off the branch with a flip, landing on his feet, with his arms extended outward on either side. Seeing through the night, Hiroshi ran over to three of the soldiers. Grabbing one of the men by the wrist he mechanically eased him down from the pain and control he held and slammed the soldier into his knee, giving him a bloody nose. He then kicked the man in the chest. Knocking him off his feet and slamming into a nearby tree.

Hiroshi then grabbed the other two, forced them into a head butt and easily snapped their arms out of place and then tripping them. The other four men were still frantically clawing at themselves. Hiroshi picked up on of the rifles, aimed and fired it several times at the men. They fell and hit the ground hard while dust kicked up in a stir.

Suddenly hearing the sounds of helicopters and other air transports, even ground vehicles, Hiroshi made a move for it. He quickly withdrew his face, mask helmet from his bag and put it on. He then turned to make a long and fast dash away from where he stood.

Running in the middle of the large open field now, three greenish transports flew overhead. Helicopters were just behind him and they were shining light across the spacious field.

“We have you surrounded!” Shouted a man through a megaphone in one of the helicopters.

Over my dead body, thought Hiroshi.

The three green transports had landed and now they were opening up. Twenty soldiers poured out from each one as they made their way in the field yelling and commanding Hiroshi to get down on the ground.

“Freeze! Don’t move!” Shouted one soldier.

Hiroshi turned to run the other way but saw two large, type Hummer vehicles mounted with some strange weapon approach, with three black vans in hot pursuit and unloading more armed men.

Turning to face the men from the transports that rose from the ground, Hiroshi stopped.

“Put your hands up in the air now!” Yelled one of the officers.

Slowly raising his arms in surrender, Hiroshi stopped. Then rapidly clenched his fists and brought his arms down in a full flurry of power as the entire field suddenly was blacken by the abyssal darkness that shrouded itself over and around the vehicles on the ground and ground forces. The helicopters in the air were unable to see anything through the cloud of black.

However for Hiroshi, he could see just fine. His vision at night was a pale blue while heat signatures appeared a reddish, yellow color. He spotted the dozens of soldiers all about him, trying to get out of the darkness.

                            “My turn,” Hiroshi said.

Running over to a soldier, Hiroshi locked his elbow and slammed it hard on the soldier’s neck, stunning him and causing him to fall unconscious to the earth. Picking up the man’s rifle, Hiroshi began shooting it at the men, running and slamming the weapon into them. They were being taken out, one by one. Two soldiers were near each other and Hiroshi ran, jumped up on a soldier’s back that was kneeling from a blow, and glided in mid air while thrusting the sole of his boot into the man’s temple. Knocking him out, causing blood to spill from his mouth. The other man was tripped as Hiroshi landed on his feet and whirled in a full circle with his right leg stretching out. His leg caught against the other man’s legs from behind and was flipped over and onto the soil. Hiroshi completed the twirl by spinning himself upward with his arm and landing both feet firmly. He turned to look about him, there were a few more soldiers standing.

Colonel Marks had already captured and brought in dozens of these… these people with special abilities. But what he watched unfold before his eyes was incredibly remarkable and beyond his simple understanding. This man that they were assigned to capture was proving extremely difficult. He seemed to have more control and focus over his own powers then any of the other individuals.

He even performed his actions and everything with such proficiency and skill that he was able to get passed the first squad. Now he was taking them all on in one single, open field. This man had training. Which meant that if they didn’t bring him in now, he’d train others. That was something he couldn’t afford. General Fox order him to bring the man in alive, and that’s exactly what he intended on doing.

Marks could still see the life signs on the Puddle Jumper’s life detector on the ship’s control screen blink out red. That meant they were in critical condition or stunned.
His men weren’t moving anymore. This man was to bloody good. It was time to put an end to this now.

                            *****

Hiroshi finished off the last soldier by stabbing him with the man’s own dagger into his arm and punching him in the lower stomach near the kidneys.

Dropping the man to the ground, Hiroshi made a sprint for it. He couldn’t keep this field dark forever.

Rushing out of the abyss, Hiroshi stopped short as Jumper decloaked before him. Another Jumper came to a pass suddenly before them and let off three remaining soldiers who fired at Hiroshi.

Dodging the blasts expertly Hiroshi rushed them, withdrawing his blades. He struck skin. The Katana severed through armor and clothing, causing the soldier on his right to scream in pain and falling to the ground as gore poured in a pool unto the ground from his leg. Cutting the other man in the armor then leg, Hiroshi clasped him down by smacking the soldier with the hilt of his blade. The other armed man fired everywhere.

Somersaulting to the ground and pushing himself back up into midair, Hiroshi skillfully kicked the man in the chest. The man flew back, hitting the ground hard.

Right as Hiroshi turned to make another run for it, he felt a cool sensation impact his spine and back. His nerves and knees buckled and his vision blurred. He attempted to stand but felt another whizzing sound from one of the exotic weapons strike several more times. He fell to the soil, falling unconscious.

Darkness and shadow began to clear, and stepping onto the ground from thin air, Marks held the Wraith stunner in his hand. He had now… successfully captured Hiroshi Takahashi.

(Ok, one more post before I hit the sack.)

"Come," Fox said as Cosgrove opened up the door and walked in.

"Sir, we've just recieved word that Colonel Marks has just successfully captured Hiroshi Takahashi and they're bring him back to base," Cosgrove said.

"Good," Fox said, being serious. "I'm glad we've finally caught him. Takahashi's been evading us for quite some time now," he continued. "Make sure everything's set up for Takahashi's arrival. I don't want him slipping up and getting away like Sullivan did," Fox ordered Cosgrove, who nodded and left the room. Turning his attention back to Daniel, Fox spoke. "I apologize Dr. Jackson, but running this operation has gotten quite hecktic lately."

After apologizing, Fox continued. "Seeing that you are the foremost knowledgable person on this planet, possibly in this galaxy, about the Ancients, we were hoping that you can shed some light on what some of the pre-ascension abilities that the Ancients had, and what you can possibly do to help us deal with these new abilities popping up," he told Daniel, looking at him.
