if daedy class ships can take 74 gigatons of damage before shield failure, can it be assumed that the ori capital weapon has 37 gigatons in one shot? as i recall 2 shots depleted the korolev's shields and a third finished it off
Ah yes but in unending the strength of shields followed a nonlinear depreciation. meaning the first impact does far less damage than the last. If i remember right the first impact of the ori weapon did only about 7% the shield strength, the last shot did about 28%. Also when two hits are taken simultaneously even more damage is done rather than it being "a+b" that was the case with the Korolev it got hit once to 50% then two shots hit it which was overkill.
Ori beams are probably the worst weapons in Stargate that anyone could try to gauge.
They're extremely plot dependant, and even VFX can be diametrally opposed within a few minutes (see the destruction of Dakara or the phased village ep).
also that unbelievably long bombardment scene in AoT destroys any basic logic about the weapon. From the its almost as if the gould weapons were equal to or greater than ori weapon power.
Ouroboros may not be the most diplomatic of us, bu he generaly knows what he's talkign about, you just have to refrain from insults, just pay attention to his arrguments.
