General theories to the mysteries and unanswered questions of Firefly!

Hiya guys! was watching Firefly the other day, and I realised just how many unanswered questions there are! For instance:

1) Who the HELL is Book?
2) What's Inara's history?
3) What happened to the other kids in The Academy?

I'm sure there are many more - if anyone thinks of any feel free to add them!

Just wondering if anyone had any theories?

My feeling is that Book used to be an Operative, but then found religion.

Yeah that's what I thought. I always thought that he had some connections with The Academy too...
