    MY SARAH JANE
    April 8 2008

    http://www.daemonstv.com/2008/04/08/my-sarah-jane/

    excerpt:
Back when I was five or six years old, I got to meet Sarah Jane Smith. It was the local summer festival and I got in a queue of kids, with my ten pence in my hand and instructions to give it to her when I got to the head of the queue. When I got there, Sarah Jane was lovely and asked me my name and signed a photo for me. When I looked at it, it said, “To Matthew with love from Liz Sladen,” which was a bit confusing - but, still, I got to meet Sarah Jane Smith!

The promos they've been showing on SciFi look like total crap. None of my friends are even remotely interested in seeing this show.

Then you and your friends will be missing out ...

As short as it is (6 episodes = 1 pilot and 5 2-part stories), the series finds its feet quickly and gets progressively better from story 3 to the end. Stories 4 and 5 are particularly good.

Speaking as a Brit, and thus I saw it last year, I say that you should at least give it a go. It's probably a little too childish for some people's tastes but it's so much better than the first season of Torchwood.

Well, being that I'm a long time DW admirer, I quite enjoyed it. Loved the sonic lipstick! A mini-sonic screw-driver...
Must have been a gift from the Doctor.

I also quite enjoyed the little memory tribute to the Doctor -- very fluent in continuity with the last time we saw her with the 10th Doctor -- at least, that's what I thought that was. One of the other tributes to the Doctor, must have been an imprint from her Tom Baker years, when
          Spoiler:
she got into a bit of a jam, and had to figure out how to get out of it... and used the word "think!!.. Think!!" that was one of the 4th Doctor's trademarks, in addition to his lovely lonnnnnnnnnnnnnnng scarf.

Sarah Jane was actually the first companion I ever met both times, when I initially got *stuck* in time watching "Doctor Who" ...it became my mom's show, therefore no one could change the channel..! -- Sarah Jane was also one of my mom's favorites, as well as her first companion intro with the DOCTOR WHO franchise, too!

I saw the pilot, and I am glad I watched. I won't call it the most riveting hour on television, but it is a children's show after all. It's not supposed to be if your over the age of eight.

Besides, you can't use Skiffy's trailers to judge anything. All of their shows look like crap due to those trailers (although most of their shows are terrible). The new Doctor Who trailer wasn't thrilling either, but I'll tune in next week.

Sarah Jane is good. It's quaint like the old doctor who
