E ~ Eighth Doctor, The - The 8th Doctor came in to existence after his previous incarnation was shot down by a gang and taken to hospital where the human medics believed he had a problem with his heart. Cardiologist Dr. Grace Holloway, unaware of the Doctor's alien physiology, performed the surgery on him and apparently ended up killing him. The 7th Doctor had in fact faked his death so as to escape the surgery and regenerate in the privacy of a mortuary locker.

The newly-regenerated 8th Doctor's first adventure had him stopping the Master from stealing his remaining regenerations and closing his TARDIS' Eye of Harmony which would have pulled the Earth in to a black hole.

It is unknown what happened to this incarnation of the Doctor after this adventure and what events caused his regeneration into the 9th Doctor, but it is believed that it was the 8th Doctor that fought in the Time Lords' Time War with the Daleks and that he sacrificed his life to end it.

The 8th Doctor was played by Paul McGann.

Following the announcement of Matt Smith as the 11th Doctor my Whovian spot has been well and truly tickled and excited so I'm jump-starting this game again.

F ~ Foreman, Susan - Granddaughter and first companion to the Doctor. Like her grandfather, Susan comes from Gallifrey. She and the Doctor left in a stolen TARDIS for reasons unknown. After many adventures, she and her grandfather settled on Earth in 1963 and Susan enrolled herself a local school. There, her unusual behaviour aroused the suspicions of two of her teachers - Barbara Wright and Ian Chesterton. She was followed back to her "home" by Barbara and Ian which led to them discovering the truth about who she really is forcing her grandfather to capture the teachers and take them along in their journey's (An Unearthly Child).

Susan's last trip with the her grandfather, Barbara, and Ian took them to 22nd century Earth where they helped a resistance movement fight Daleks. Susan fell in love with a freedom fighter named David Campbell but knowing she'd never leave him, the Doctor said his goodbyes to her and left her behind (The Dalek Invasion of Earth).

Susan was later snatched away by Time Scoop technology and was reunited with her grandfather on Gallifrey. She helped him through the Death Zone and also met his 2nd, 3rd, and 5th incarnations and their companions. After losing the Game of Rassilon, Susan was returned to 22nd century Earth (The Five Doctors).

In the book Legacy of the Daleks, Susan was revealed to be happily married to David Campbell. The renegade Time Lord known as the Master killed her husband and captured her and took her to the planet Tererus in his TARDIS. Susan later escaped by stealing the Master's TARDIS but not before sabotaging his plans which left him horribly injured and stranded on the planet.

At present the fate of Susan Foreman is unknown. It may be possible she was killed in the Time War with the Daleks.

Susan Foreman was played by Carole Ann Ford)

H ~ Heriot, Zoe - Zoe Heriot was a companion to the 2nd Doctor. She was born on Earth in the year 2048. By 2068, Zoe was working as an Astrophysicist on Space Station W3 (also known as "The Wheel") when she first met the Doctor and his companion Jamie McCrimmon. She helped the Doctor and Jamie stop the Cybermen from taking over "The Wheel" and later joined them on board the TARDIS (The Wheel in Space).

After the Doctor was forced to call in his own people the Time Lords to help with a situation he was unable to handle, he was forced to return to Gallifrey to stand trial for his interference throughout Time and Space and Zoe and Jamie were forced to part company with him and returned to their respective time zones with all but their first adventure with the Doctor erased from their memories (The War Games).

Zoe Heriot was played by Wendy Padbury.

I ~ Ian Chesterton - (Played by William Russell).

Ian Chesterton Travelled with the Doctor between 'An Unearthly Child' and 'The Chase'.

A teacher at Coal Hill School, Ian encountered the Doctor when he visited the home of one of his pupils, Susan Foreman, with his colleague, Barbara Wright. Fearing that the teachers would reveal his secret, Susan's "Grandfather" the Doctor kidnapped them, beginning a series of exciting adventures.

Ian's speciality was science, but his skills as a diplomat were also useful. He was often called upon to play peacemaker, and many times saved the lives of his fellow travellers. His often stormy relationship with the cantankerous Time Lord ended when he and Barbara finally returned to Earth in an abandoned Dalek time capsule.

L ~ Laser Screwdriver - Weapon used by the Master. He incorporated technology developed by Professor Lazarus in to its design and used it to age the Doctor to the age of 1,239. When the Doctor managed to get hold of the Laser Screwdriver, it failed to work for him due to it having Isomorphic Controls - a biometric security feature which effectively disables use of the device by anyone other than the Master.

O ~ Opera Glasses - These are a small set of binoculars that the Doctor carries with him in the 2005 episode 'The Empty Child', as well as in the novel 'The Nightmare of Black Island'. In the latter, he uses them to gain a closer view of Ynis Du's lighthouse. The actual origin of the glasses are unknown; however, the fact that they are described as having "computer-enhanced lenses" suggests that they are a product of some future time.

R~Risen Mitten: A metal glove that allows a person to revive a fresh murder victim for two minutes. The first glove was found by Torchwood 3 operative Suzie Costello sometime prior to 2006 while dredging the bay and was introduced in the series premeire Evrything Changes. The power of the glove combined with an accompanying knife corrupted Suzie into thinking she could play god and resulted in her suicide. The same glove was later used by Torchwood operative Gwen Cooper to revive Suzie in the episode They Keep Killing Suzie. Suzie was able to leech Gwen's life away through the glove to fully ressurrect herself. The glove was destroyed by Toshiko Sato to save Gwen's life. In the second season episode Dead Man Walking Captain Jack Harkness finds the second glove in an abandoned church and uses the glove to revive Dr. Owen Harper, but unleashes Death into the world before the glove can be destroyed. Death is eventually defeated by Owen, and leaves Owen a walking corpse.
