Watch the season first but as sci-fi aired at. The film you should watch last. Actually i just finished watching the season a few days ago. It's the best.

How does the DVD set differ from sci-fi's airing? I just got the set, but have watched it through the library. I never saw it on FOX. I had read the pilot Serenity was aired on FOX later on instead at the beginning. On the DVD set it's at the beginning. I assumed the rest of the DVD set is in the order Whedon would've liked it to air?

that's the difference. imdb and tv.com still list Serenity (the pilot) as eps 11 and 12 instead of 1 and 2

I watched the entire first season, very good show. There was so much potential, it's sad it got canceled.

But I'm disappointed there are so many questions unanswered!! I hope some of them are explained in the movie.

My favorite episode is probably the one when the captain gets a wife, so many funny lines in that episode.

That one is great! When I showed a friend the series, we must've re-watched that particular episode 3 times before continuing to the rest of them!

I hadn't seen the series until a friend of mine introduced me to it via her dvd's, so I'm very glad I got to see the season in the order the director intended.
