but isnt the 303 cheaper than a 304? why not use it as a frigate type ship? cheap and could be upgraded, unless they of course build something new and cheaper than the 304 to fill that role...

We could pay them with food, and give them better health care, and well toilets with sewers. and slowly introduce technology into their culture. They mine what we need for ships, we give them food and new tech. Also make sure they have running clean water. Then when they advance enough we'll have new allies.

the best thing to offer them along with what you have said could be membership into a new federation we could make just like on star stek. if a race wants to join they will have to give use resourses, tech or man power to get the ticket into the club. once there working for use will improve there world slowly.

304 is Asgard + Tauri common work on how 303 should be done in first place. In case that we remodel 304 in to 303's size (80% of 304, withot 303's tower, without 304's hangers, "without 303's back wings") we can have a ship capable of transporting HMPJ (which are better armed than 302's and shileded) and at the same time we can put some nuclear batteries in front of the ship (BSG 303 or 304 - BSG Pegasus for reference) and that could together with Asgard Beam weapon do the trick. And we dont need more than 30-40 people crew, because this ship should be used for escort and small attacks.

it would be cool that since there were only 8(?) ori ships we could get our hands on a damaged one like with no beam weapon but with the pulse cannons while the lucian alliance and Jaffa have the other 7 ships. Also we need to bring back the 303 it was small and would be fun to see instead of just the 304s.

No, we don't need to bring back the 303. It was impractical, and of we want a smaller ship, we "need" to design a new one, and have all tech integrated from the begining. the 303 was a technology testbed, and a rather big failure.

why was the 303 a big falure, because it was shot down?

It was a great START, it literally was the start of an era.

It was, small, weak, with poorly integrated tech. the USAF Daedalus DSC-304 was the beginning of a new era.

Did the 303 ever manage to beat an opponant? no, whenever it saw action, it got it's arse kicked. it was a failure. the 304 was the first true tau'ri warship.

no, it was a great success. everything learned from the 303 was incorporated into the 304, making the 304 a true warship. the 303 was a combi of many mismatched pieces and technologies and more alien than human
