More likely they created rings prior to the Milky Way exodus not the Pegasus exodus.

Considering that the Ori already had this technology.

Hmm....Goa'Uld tech DOES look ancienty though.....

As someone said before, it doesn't look like Lantean tech, but that's because MW design and Pegasus design are very different.

Fact is, staff weapons & Ha'taks and other Goa'Uld tech does bear a resemblance to the rocky-organicy look of Ancient tech in MW.

The Goa'uld came from their original homeworld P3X-888. On that world, we know that there at at least 2 sentient species: one of which is the Unas, with a pre-industrial civilisation. In fact, the Unas race seems very close to the Stone Age period. The other sentient species was the Goa'uld, which was an aquatic species, proably reptiles, with the ability to burrow into the neck of large animals and wrap itself around the brain stem, thus gaining the ability to physically control its host's body and access its memories as well.

In wikipedia, it says the Goa'uld infested the Unas and learnt how to use the Stargate, eventually spreading over the galaxy. I think this is unlikely. Firstly, the Unas showed no knowledge of using the Stargate. To use the Stargate, the minimum requirement is knowing the Point of Origin. More likely the Goaúld were orginally had no knowldege, until one of them infested a Unas and started a underground subculture.

We seen no signs of Industry on P3X-888. Another alien species could have come to that planet and got infested. Thats how the Goaúld got started on technology.

The ships probably look so much like Pyramids coz they got them from Egyptians. The Goaúld got all of their culture, society, language and religion from the ancient cultures of Earth

lol, that's the basis for the entire show and franchise. The pyramids are Goa'uld architecture as are Ha'taks. The pyramids were the landing pads for the motherships. Daniel discovered this, and it's the reason he was brought into the SGC.

just curious now that you bring it up.
If you notice, the transporters on Atlantis make an extremely similar noise to rings when they activate. It stands to reason that the transporters work in the same way that rings do.

Look at the way the Ori use the rings too, they drop a platform on the planet so the ship in orbit can send down the prior.

            "YES!"
            "W.. well, you can't."

I wonder if the Goauld introduced pyramids to earth or was it the other way around? And why has it to be pyramid shaped? It is a strnage shape for a space craft

One would think that if the Goa'uld took the leftover Ancient tech from when they died off in the Milky Way galaxy, the Hatak would look more like an Aurora class warship or we'd see ribbon devices or zats in Atlantis.

                See what I'm saying?
The goa'uld are scavengers and Teyla Emmagan's people are to so they both take what they find from the ancients if you look closely there are a lot of things similar example brazier St. Atl. S01Ep18 Min aprox 16 ... it's the same style as the Ha'tak lighting fixtures ..... or maybe thats because the props guy was too lazy

As has been stated, the Go'auld are a parasitic race. THey take what resources they want. This includes, planets technology and so on. Its more than likely that the Unas infested Go'auld happened across an advanced tech society and stole their technology.. after first taking over some key scientists to take their knowledge.

It could well be that that society use Pyramid ships (perhaps looking differently) and thus the tradition was born. The staff weapons may of come from the same society.

Also keep in mind that while the Go'auld are a parasitic race that dosnt mean that they cant make things of their own, Nirrti was a Go'auld scientist first and foremost. Im sure she created a lot of really bad stuff.

They have also had thousands of years of development and time to plunder the tech of the Milky Way Galaxy.

One last thing to note. Go'auld weapons as stated are weapons of 'Intimidation'. Lots of smoke and fire and a big whump. Designed to instill Terror and then Subjugation.

Their ships are designed for the Ego of a Go'auld. Burning torches instead of artificial light, decorative work on the walls, a THRONE where everyone stands around.
