When the replicators were showing the (replicator) team how they can go between various human forms, the "default" form was the same silver mercury-man CG model we've been seeing since Terminator 2. Off the top of my head, a bunch of writhing nanobot-nerve-endings would've been more interesting and original, and I should think the CG technology exists to do this now.
