The Alpha Site

Will the Alpha Site ever be updated with the new design? Or will it be there to preserve the memory of the old site?

Also, I don't think I've ever seen news on there when GW is down, and the forum is just "ye... we're down again"

Greg duplicated the alpha site for the purposes of a forum outage. But as for the actual URL GateWorldAlphaSite.com, there are no plans to update it. Since we are on a much more stable hosting environment these days, the site has (fortunately) become largely unnecessary.

We do have occasional use for the Yahoo! Group "GateWorld Alpha Site." I think that I may ditch the Web site and forward the URL directly to that group, for cases of extreme emergency, to prevent information blackout.
