The Very First Time You Watched Stargate And Saw the G'oauld

The very first time you saw Stargate way, way back when it was brand
new. Did seeing the G'oauld and how they enter someone gross you out
    or scare you?

Just wondering. Because for prime time TV I think it was a bold step
    Go home aliens, go home!!!!

It was in 'Children of the Gods, so it must have been when Amaunet entered Sha're. No, I don't think it was gross or scaring. I've always found the symbiotes to be quite beautiful. I think the way it was shot was somewhat sexually suggestive, and I know my boyfriend found it - interesting.

One thing, I'm not american, so I don't really know what is normal for prime time there, but I've seen far more suggestive programs, with much more nudity at prime time. I think it seemed very mild.

Sexual? I never thought that. In what way do you mean?

The pilot movie "Children of the gods" did have a full frontal nude of
Shau're and I have to wonder why that was in there. But I didn't think
anything that way about the snakes or how they entered. It went
in her stomach not her woowoo

I thought they were hilariously (and sadly) campy and not scary at all. I still don't like them that much.

I think the first time it aired in the UK, it may have been censored with a few quick cuts (the bits with the symbiotes poking out of the jaffa pouch, and the nudity of the captured millitary people).

Of course the first time I saw a goa'uld was in the movie, but Ra wasn't a symbiote in that.

                  A purist, huh?

Yeah, Apophis's "Foo, I wil keel u!" was hilariously scary.

The only thing that was good about the Goa'uld, for me, was to watch Jack make fun of them.

Actually it went in the back of her neck.

And I can see why it might appear sexual, especially the female Jaffa's obvious ecstacy at the emergence of the symbiote, but... I'm not sure why the Janson's boyfriend found it... interesting.

I still can't believe thta they got away with the full frontal nudity with
Sha're.. Hang on isn't it spelt Shau'ri . Why the change from the movie?

Anyway I was very surprised when it first aired here back in 1996 they
ran the pilot epiosde startting at 7:30 pm... And then a bit into it you
see a fully naked Shau're(ri) and my jaw dropped. ... I mean how they
got away with that I mean....

                        Obligiatory rude comment
                        Spoiler:

she had a nice big hairy woo woo though.

They're nothing like the Trill. Trills were friendly and their hosts volunteered... They were
                            never forced.

But first-time viewers wouldn't have known that. They'll just see how it's a symbiote, just like the Trill.
