Haha, that's why I'm sticking with this method; it's faster, and much of the interpretation can be left to the reader. That way, I don't have to nail down everyone's personalities exactly or have to nail shipping pairs... the reader's mind handles that.

Still have to finish "Dilemma". Afterwards, I'm planning on a Genii 2-parter. I might go with your newer format for the next few stories. However, when I do end up getting towards the mega-multi-episode epic with the "good stuff", I will probably default back to the script format.

12x08 "Manifest Destiny"
Synopsis: The United Nations asks SG-1 to escort the General Secretary when she visits Earth's first civilian colony, and they soon find that they are needed more than they anticipated.

Spoiler:

A puddle jumper is making its way through the many spires of Manhattan island, and after a few moments of flight, it slows down as it nears its destination; the newly-renovated United Nations Headquarters. The jumper touches down on a helipad outside, and the rear hatch opens to reveal none-other than SG-1.

As the jumper lifts off, the team makes its way toward the entrance to the facility, chatting amongst themselves. According to Daniel, they've been asked to speak with the head of the United Nations, the General Secretary, about a matter of international importance. Carter seems skeptical, and suggests that the old IOA nations are probably just trying some power-play, but Mitchell sides with Jackson; this could be big.

They are greated at the doorway by an aide, who ushes them inside. The young woman leads them to a high-security area, and tells them to use a specific elevator to reach the upper offices. The team does as they're asked, and soon arrived outside the Secretary's private section. An assistant tells them to go on in, and they are shocked to find an old friend waiting for them—General Jack O'Neill! The former SG-1 commander stands and greets each of them personally, lingering only a moment longer on both Carter and Jackson, and giving Teal'c a Jaffa handshake.

The General Secretary, Angela Loewe, a German woman fluent in almost as many languages as Daniel, greets them as well, and asks them to be seated. She turns to the large window that forms the rear wall of her office and states her request simply and quickly; she is planning on visiting Earth's first offworld colony, Nueva (Spanish for "new" and named such due to its Latino project head), and would like SG-1 to escort her there. They, being humanity's foremost offworlders, would no doubt be able to protect from any foreseeable accident or attack, and she says she couldn't feel safer if they were around.

O'Neill reminds them that Nueva is on the edge of Jaffa—and Alliance—space, and therefore is quite a way from any orbital assistance should something go wrong. But regardless, the team is eager to be of assistance, and they agree.

Two days later, SG-1 stands in offworld gear in front of the stargate at the ISGC. A few moments later, Secretary Loewe arrives, dressed in a plain business suit. She thanks SG-1 again for agreeing to this, and then asks Walter to dial the gate. As they wait for the wormhole to connect, the team chats together, with their guest saying that she was actually in the German Air Force when she was younger.

At length, the gate connects, and, surprisingly, the General Secretary does not react at all surprised, like most first-time gaters. She merely brushes it off, saying that she bore witness to things just as shocking before, but admits that it is a truly amazing sight to behold nonetheless. With that, the group heads through the stargate... and arrives inside a Western-style building that is mostly glass and steel, giving it a contemporary beauty. Through the windows, a large settlement can be seen, roughly the size of a small town on Earth. Everything that one would expect is here; pedestrians walking about, automobiles (notably more-advanced looking than current ones), even a few jumpers. Also lying about are schools, supermarkets, and office buildings; this is a true community.

A UN soldier greets them, welcoming them to Nueva Spaceport. He says that he has been assigned to show them around the colony, and he takes them outside into a very Earth-like atmosphere. He explains that all the colonists here are scientists, soldiers, philanthropists, and archaeologists, doing work for the ISGC. Hopefully, normal civilians can start living here within a year, too.

Secretary Loewe remarks at how breathtaking it is to see humans living on another world, and the place not appearing out of place back on Earth at all. But that's as far as she gets when, suddenly, the Spaceport behind them erupts into flames, the glass shattering in all directions. Daniel pulls Loewe to the ground with him while the other SG-1 members and the UN soldier pull out their weapons. Military personnel are rushing to the burning building, setting up a perimeter.

Teal'c asks at once what happened, suggesting a terrorist attack. But the UN guide shakes his head, saying that it's impossible; they have Asgard sensors detecting any incoming ships, and the only arrivals thus far via gate have been from Earth. Still, Mitchell recommends getting Loewe indoors, and they quickly head to a military bunker on the outskirts of the city (in the background, a jumper can be seen hovering about the Spaceport and blasting water on it, much like a flying firetruck).

That evening, the fire at the Spaceport has been put out, and the area cordoned off. Three dozen people were inside at the time the bomb—and they're sure it was a bomb now—went off, and all were killed instantly. Secretary Loewe is being kept under heavy guard in the lower levels of the base, and SG-1 has been given a place to stay on the top floor. After a few minutes of discussion about what to do, Vala suggests checking the sensor logs, just to make sure no one slipped through the cracks. Everyone agrees, so they leave for the transmissions tower nearby.

As she checks the logs, Carter finds that three ships have landed on Nueva within the past month; the Aurora came twice, bringing some needed supplies, and a Tok'ra tel'tak. However, a Free Jaffa ha'tak dropped into orbit and ringed down a few dignitaries to visit four days ago, as well. Teal'c immediately denies that the Jaffa had anything to do with this, and Daniel insists that the Tok'ra would never attack Earth. But someone had to have done this, so Carter suggests heading back to the military complex and checking the records for ring platform use. At the same time, Mitchell and Daniel volunteer to check on Loewe.

A short time later, Carter and Vala are in the ring room, checking the security footage. As she scans a terminal, Vala asks who would want to destroy the colony, considering it poses no strategic value whatsoever. Carter is about to respond when she finishes hacking into some backfiles on the tape, showing a ring tansmission come in; one not noted in the logs. It shows a duo of men with alien weaponry arrive, stun the guard in the room, ring him back to wherever they came from, and leave. The uniforms were clearly ones of the Lucian Alliance, but how did they get here? The only answer is the Jaffa ha'tak, and the two SG-1 members leave to see if Teal'c knows anything.

Meanwhile, Teal'c, Daniel, and Mitchell are talking in Loewe's antechamber, their weapons lying at their sides. Suddenly, the door opens and a man (from the tape) walks in, raising a Lucian Alliance-issue submachine gun. He points it at the trio, ordering them not to move or talk or he'll shoot. Daniel tries to talk him down, arguing that he'll never get out of this facility alive, but the man doesn't seem worried. With half a week of hacking into Nueva Colony's systems, he and his cohort have managed to take control of the alarm and automated defenses; no one will be coming to fight them, considering they've alterted base security to an "attack" (false) on the other side of the city, where a bomb is waiting to take them off in one motion.

He orders SG-1 to stand aside so he can remove Loewe, but Mitchell refuses. The Lucian man prepares to fire, but suddenly a zat blast knocks him down from behind, and in walks... Carter and Vala, having been listening outside. Teal'c reminds them of the bomb, and they rush off, Vala opting to stay with the Secretary.

They arrive just in time; they order the soldiers to pull back seconds before another massive explosion destroys a nearby group of buildings (luckily still under construction). But it's too late to catch the culprit; his tel'tak can be seen rising into the sky and cloaking.

Later, at the ISGC, the plan is found out through interrogation of the man they captured; the tel'tak arrived alongside the Jaffa ha'tak, to throw suspicion on them. The plan was to take out Nueva's security, then move in and conquer it for the Lucian Alliance. Luckily, they were stopped in time.

But Teal'c brings up a sobering thought; this event has proven that nowhere is safe anymore. The Lucian Alliance means war. And then a second, perhaps even worse thought; just how are they getting so powerful?

12x09 "Resurgence"
Synopsis: When outlying human worlds suddenly become hostile to Earth and the Alliance, SG-1 discovers that an old enemy may have returned to haunt them.

Spoiler:

On the planet Lehra, SG-1 is offworld attempting to negotiate for a new source of trinium with a group of humans with moderate (1970s) technological advancement. However, these people that once traded very fairly with Earth are demanding far more compensation for the resources than normal, and Daniel finally flat-out tells them so. The human diplomats merely suggest that they find a way to accept their terms, as Earth needs trinium more than they need Earth.

Taking a break from the negotiations, the team meets outside the capitol building to discuss what's going on here. The citizenry are avoiding eye contact with them, and the soldiers patrolling about seem quite annoyed with their presence. Mitchell decides they should check in with General Landry to inform him of the stalemate, and the group heads off.

As they approach the raised platform where the stargate is positioned, Carter, Daniel, and Teal'c freeze; up ahead, someone is shaking hands with one of the Lahrans, and they recognize him at once... Molem of the Aschen Confederation. They remember how his people once tried to sterilize and conquer Earth, and are, of course, shocked to see him here. But before they can say anything, he turns (not having seen them) and steps through the stargate, which promptly deactivates.

Immediately, knowing that Mollem must have seen the MALP parked next to the gate, SG-1 rushes up and dials Earth; ISGC needs to know about this at once.

Some time later, the team is coming through the gate, with General Landry waiting for them at the end of the ramp. He informs them that the UN is on high-alert--no one is taking any chances with the Aschen this time around. And he has even more sobering news, too. Apparently, a total of twenty-one human worlds that supply Earth with vital resources have suddenly cut all diplomatic ties and refused to accept diplomats. With this new information that the Aschen are involved on at least one such planet, it seems very likely that they are behind this sudden anti-Earth sentiment.

In the briefing room, Landry brings up recent Tok'ra intelligence about ship movements in the vicinity around the Aschen homeworld (they've been monitoring the Confederation ever since their failed takeover of Earth)... and the picture isn't a good one. Almost a hundred craft are taking up positions near important trade routes for the Alliance factions; if they were to strike, they could paralyze galactic trade, freezing the Jaffa Nation and the Hebridanians in their tracks. The Nox have a small fleet standing by to deal with it should the need arise, but with Garrin still out there ("Collision"), they're reluctant to send their fleet far from home for any period of time.

So instead, Landry contacted the Aschen after SG-1 dialed in from Lahra. He managed to set up a meeting between some Confederation leaders and SG-1 on a small Jaffa settlement not part of the Jaffa Nation, effectively making it neutral territory.

An few days later, SG-1 arrives on the Jaffa world, Dar Minos. To their surprise, they find Mollem waiting for them, along with several Aschen soldiers and diplomats. Acting surprisingly cordial, they invite the team into a hall that the Jaffa have lent them for the talks, and walk inside without waiting for an answer. The team, though confused, follows and takes a seat at a wide, round table in the center of the hall's largest room.

Once everyone is seated, Mollem opens with a not-so-subtle attack; Earth and its "Alliance" will pull out of the area around Confederation space perminantly, or the Confederation will do exactly as Landry feared and take down the galactic trading system. Carter replies that they have no knoweldge of any Alliance ships in Aschen territory, but Mollem quickly pulls out--to the team's dismay--a Tok'ra subspace sensor relay and activates it, showing some two dozen Tok'ra and Jaffa scout ships buzzing about the area, spying. Of course the sensor was stolen, but the message is clear: the Aschen know what they're up to.

But Daniel argues that the ships are only there because the Aschen have been rallying worlds against Earth, which Mollem flatly denies. He claims that Lehra is a planet looking to join the Confederation, and he was merely there to facilitate their merging. Teal'c finds this unlikely, considering Lehra has a sizable Jaffa population that is well-aware of what the Aschen are like, and would never willingly let their world fall under Confederation control. Regardless, Mollem knows that SG-1 has no hard evidence, and simply repeats his demand for all Alliance ships to leave Aschen space. He gives the team one hour to talk with their superiors.

While the others head back to the gate to talk with Landry, Carter hangs back to speak with Mollem personally, being the one with most experience with him. Although at first, he has no intention of talking with her, he finally relents and opens up. Carter asks what the Aschen have been doing since their last encounter, to which Mollem angrily replies that what "they have been doing" is trying to evacuate one of their major outposts, which was connected via stargate to a black hole thanks to the rigged addresses given to them by SG-1. Millions of Aschen were killed before they could figure out a way to disconnect that stargate safely, and for that, Earth must pay.

Seeing that she won't get much further with Mollem, Carter turns to leave. But one of the Aschen guards grabs her, and is quickly joined by two more. She demands to know what's going on, and Mollem calmly explains; he never expects Earth or the Alliance to back off... but he suspects they'll become much more agreeable if one of their own goes missing. He and his men step onto an Aschen transporter hidden in the next room, and vanish.

Meanwhile, the rest of the team is finishing up their chat with Landry, and are aboutto return to the hall. But they arrive to find it empty, with no one left. However, Teal'c notices a combat knife lying on the ground; Sam's must have been knocked off of her belt when she was taken. After a few seconds, Vala finds the Aschen transporter, but it won't connect to anything... meaning the Aschen must have had a ship in orbit. Knowing they've been tricked, Daniel rushes back to the gate to call for help.

While they try to find her, Carter is onboard an Aschen cruiser travelling through hyperspace. She's locked in a cell, but Mollem visits her after a while, informing her that they're heading to the Aschen homeworld, where she will be put on trial for terrorism. Carter is shocked; the Aschen tried to destroy Earth, not the other way around. But Mollem hardly cares, he only wants Earth to back off, and is certain this will have the desired effect.

On Earth, the team and Lanfry are trying to devise a plan to save Carter. The Aschen homeworld, using the estimated speed of Aschen engines, is five hours away from Dar Minos, and that gives them roughly four and a half hours to come up with something. Mitchell suggests sending the Aurora, but Teal'c mentions that the Confederation has far too many ships even for the Asgard-enhanced warship to win. That's when Daniel's face suddenly lights up, and he rushes down to the control room, yelling only, "Got an idea!"

Finally, the Aschen cruiser drops out of hyperspace, but to a shocking scene; the Confederation's fleet is arrayed against an armada of Earth, Tok'ra, Hebridanian, Nox, and Jaffa ships, the Alliance's first true coalition force. Even with superior numbers, the Aschen's weaponry and shields are below the standard of most Nox and Earth vessels, which would tip the scales of any battle in the Alliance's favor just enough to win. Suddenly, the comm. comes on, and the voice of Col. Via Sanders demands the Confederation turn over Col. Carter, or they will open fire.

Mollem demands to know how long the enemy has been here, and his people inform him that the Alliance ships arrived only a few minutes ago, Earth having sounded the warning and having faster hyperdrive technology (Aschen drives are rather slow, as established in "2001"). When Mollem continues to try and stall, a Nox warship fires a warning shot into the Confederation fleet, seriously draining one of the larger cruiser's shields.

Finally, the Ashen leaders tell Mollem to ring Col. Carter over to the Aurora; they can't win this round. The Aschen politician reluctantly does as he is asked, and a group of soldiers escort Carter to a ring room, where she glares at Mollem as she is transported away. Then, keeping to their promise, the Alliance fleet breaks off and jumps into hyperspace, dispersing back to their respective worlds.

Some time later, Carter is in her quarters at the ISGC when Daniel knocks on the door. Apparently, the Aschen have pulled the bulk of their fleet away from the galactic trading routes, but have begun mass production of heavy warships. Forcing the Confederation's hand worked this time, but now it's only a matter of time before the Aschen return with a vengenace...

12x10 "The Relic" (Part 1 of 2)
Synopsis: A derelict Furling warship is found floating in deep space, and SG-1 boards it to investigate why it was abandoned... but they may not be the only ones interested in the wreckage.

Spoiler:

In the middle of outer space, three ha'tak face each other; two on one side, one on the other. The duo of ships are blasting apart the lone one, chewing through its shields in no time. As it begins to explode, the scene is viewed from a different angle... the bridge of the lead winning ship. And there, Garrin ("Collision") can clearly be seen commanding the battle.

A few moments of chatter on the pel'tak make clear what just happened; these are two of Garrin's ships, and just destroyed a Free Jaffa vessel that had come to investigate their presence here. Apparently, they had to strike quickly before the enemy could get a signal back to Chulak, as there is something here of value.

Suddenly, the display screen lights up with the face of a Jaffa. This is the commander of the second victorious ship, and he wants to contact the Lucian Alliance about "it". He believes that "it" could be their ticket into returning to glory in the organization, and with all of Garrin's recent actions against Earth, he has little doubt that they will be welcomed back as heroes. But Garrin disagrees, and says that including them would ruin his plan. For now, the Lucian Alliance must stay out of this.

The other commander now grows angry, demanding that something be done. He claims to be tired of sneaking around the galaxy like this, and thinks that going back will make them more powerful than ever, more powerful than even Earth and its allies. Garrin sighs, asking that he lower his shields so he can ring aboard to discuss the situation in person. The commander complies, and cuts the comm. channel. As soon as he is sure the shields are down, Garrin coldly orders his men to destroy the other ha'tak, and within seconds a barrage of plasma fire have obliterated the other ship.

Now Garrin turns to the window, and as the camera rotates, the object of his desire is revealed... a Furling warship (recognized from Daniel's vision in "Requiem, Part 2").

Meanwhile, at the ISGC, a Tok'ra representative is arriving through the stargate. Daniel Jackson and Vala greet the man at the foot of the ramp, welcoming him to Earth. The diplomat explains that Anise (now on the High Council) would have come, but she is pre-occupied with setting up a new outpost near the galactic core. After the pleasantries have been exchanged, Daniel motions for the Tok'ra to follow him to the briefing room to meet with the others.

Once they arrive, the dignitary explains why the Tok'ra contacted Earth; one of the Lucian Alliance motherships they were tracking was mysteriously destroyed several hours ago, in the vicinity of a Free Jaffa ha'tak that has also been reported missing. He goes on to add that this is extremely odd, as the place where the two were located is merely empty space, far from any planet or fleet. Both the Jaffa and the Tok'ra would like it checked out, and the Nox have voiced interest, as well. However, the other Alliance factions are busy defending their various worlds, and only Earth has the luxury of a constantly-available ship.

Mitchell says they'd like to help, but the Aurora has been regelated to guard duty for the time being, in light of the attack against Nueva ("Manifest Destiny"). The UN won't want to let it go without a fight. But luckily, Carter brings up a possible solution... several former IOA nations began constructing starcraft around the time the Program went public, and a total of seven new ships will be done soon. But one has already been completed; the Chinese have constructed a BC-303, hence its earlier finish. And since all nation's starships fall under the jurisdiction of the UN, and by extension the ISGC, they can appropriate it for this mission. The Chinese won't be happy, but they'll have to agree.

Landry aproves the mission, but tells the team to check in every few hours. Then the five SG-1 members split up to get their things ready for the trip, promising to meet back in the gate room in an hour. While Daniel and Mitchell are packing, they disucss the possible ramifications taking the Chinese's new ship could have, but Jackson agrees in the end that it's necessary. And so they meet the others in the gate room, and are quickly beamed aboard the BC-303 Ming Yun (roughly meaning "Destiny"). The vessel's commander, Col. Choi Liu grudgingly welcomes them, but warns them that, regardless of the UN's actions, this is first-and-foremost a Chinese ship.

Daniel tries to convince the commander that they're only doing this because the Aurora is needed for planetary defense, but he doesn't seem to care. Liu merely orders the ship into hyperspace, and they depart. While they wait to arrive (this ship, like the Aurora, has all the latest Asgard technology, so it is quite fast), the team tries to make nice with the Chinese crew, but many of them refuse to talk to them, and those that don't obviously aren't very skilled at English. Daniel tries translating for them, but eventually they just give up and resign themselves to the wait.

After an hour or two of solid travel, the ship drops out of hyperspace in the middle of a cloud of wreckage; the two ha'tak destroyed earlier. The team, arriving on the bridge, is treated to a display of the prowess of the Chinese pilot, who skillfully avoids the massive chunks of metal flying toward them even spinning the 303 like a stuntplane to dodge one of them. Carter asks that a scan of the area be run to determine what happened, but her voice trails off as they clear the wreckage and drift into the open... revealing the Furling warship.

The entire team is awed by the site, as are the Chinese. Daniel recognizes it at once, and tells the others the significance of this find; if this ship is intact, it could hold technology on par with that of the Asgard and Ancients, making it extraordinarily valuable. He recommends beaming on and trying to get it online, but Col. Liu is cautions, not wanting America to take yet another piece of high technology for themselves. But after a brief bout of arguing, he agrees to let the team go, but only if they take a Chinese team with them. Mitchell agrees, and they are beamed aboard.

Daniel, going by ascended memory, guides the team to the bridge, where Carter hacks through the door and begins trying to interface with the ship's systems. She asks the Chinese to head to the reactor two levels down and try to get it working so they have more than emergency power to work with; amazingly, the backup generators are still working.

While the scientists are busy, Mitchell and Teal'c take a stroll down the ship's corridors, with Teal'c noting the remarkable similarity of the consoles here to what SG-1 found in previous Furling technology ("Paradise Lost"), indicating that this ship and others like it were built around the same time as the paradise planet. Then they pass a room that looks amazingly familiar, and Mitchell comms Carter to hold up; a device like the Alliance History archive on Helopolis is here.

Daniel soon arrives and powers it up, but is stumped by the Furling language he encounters... since there have only been a few examples of their writing found by Earth, he hasn't had a chance to figure it out yet. However, he does manage to decipher some of it, making it out as some sort of final log. Mitchell and Teal'c leave him to his work, heading back to the bridge to check on Carter's progress. As they arrive outside it, they hear a loud creak reverberate through the vessel, but Sam explains it away as just old age.

(Daniel discovers that this ship was actually on its way to Heliopolis during this time)

Suddenly, the lights come on, and the computer consoles power up; the Chinese got the reactor online. They radio in their success, then say they want to go check out the hyperdrive to make sure it's working. Carter agrees, and gets back to work on her interface, which she says is almost ready to go (she had practice during the "Paradise Lost" incident).

Meanwhile, Daniel has been busily reading into this ship's history. It was constructed during the waning years of the Furling's "civil war", during which they and the Alliance desperately tried to destroy the rogue AI they had created. This ship was built to carry the leaders of the Furling race away from their final outpost to Heliopolis, where they would be safe from harm. But something (Daniel isn't sure what) went wrong during the trip, and the ship was evacuated. Perplexed, Daniel dives deeper into the records, hoping to unearth more information.

Finally, she gets it, and immediately hooks into the ship's primary systems, bringing shields and sensors back up. And this creates a problem; the internal sensors are detecting fourteen extra life signs, all moving quite rapidly toward the bridge (Carter says they hadn't been picked up earlier because this ship's hull is interfering with the Ming Yun's sensors). She, Mitchell, and Teal'c grab their weapons, then radio for Daniel and Vala to prepare for trouble. Vala, who had been wandering around the hallways (no doubt looking for valuables), pulls out her zat and runs toward where Daniel is still working with the log.

On the bridge, Carter seals the doorway and hurriedly works on getting the weapons online; if someone else is aboard investigating the ship, then it stands to reason that whatever brought them here will be returning soon enough. She starts to radio Col. Liu to beam a contingent of soldiers over to help, but the channel is suddenly filled with static... meaning that the other people onboard must be jamming them.

After a moment or two, feet can be heard approaching, and a second later the sound of a control panel being ripped open are heard. Carter realizes that someone must be trying to slice through the door like she did, and frantically tries to boost the locking mechanisms... but it's not good. Only a few minutes stand between them and whoever is out there.

Daniel and Vala, having met up outside the log room, are already on their way toward the bridge, but stop when the voice of someone not on their team comes over the radio; Garrin. He's standing outside the bridge, watching as his men start to get the door to unlock, and cheerfully greets SG-1, informing them that they won't be getting away this time.

Outside, as if to complete the awful situation, three ha'tak drop out of hyperspace, surrounding the Ming Yun. They're trapped.

Your season 12 seems to lack a very defined enemy this time. Garrin's ships are certainly powerful, but the origin of that power seems to me to be the origin of your new villain, yes? I like the way you've created a unified galaxy though. It's very intriguing.

Well that's the point of adding onto SG-1, to reveal things the show didn't explain. We know the Nox were once part of the Alliance, and therefore must have had ships at one point. I'm just bringing them back (besides, canonically speaking, we have no evidence that they didn't).

they most likely had ships but whetehr those ships had wepons is another matter. remember they are pacifist hipies, their ships would be very advanced but i think more to the point of evading and confusing a enemy than hurting them, remember they took away SG1-s weapons so tey couldn't hurt Baal.

12x11 "Takeover" (Part 2 of 2)
Synopsis: Trapped aboard a Furling warship crawling with hostile forces and cut off from help, SG-1 must find a way to escape with their lives.

As the three SG-1 members on the bridge watch, helpless, as the door begins to open, Carter suddenly has an idea. She types in one final command to the ship, then pulls out her laptop and fires her P-90 into the control console, shattering the delicate piece of technology. Mitchell is about to ask what on Earth she's doing when, just as the door slides open, the three are engulfed in the bright light of an Asgard transport beam and vanish.

From outside, Garrin watches as, yet again, his adversaries evade him, and angrily orders his men to fan out and search the ship. He enters the bridge and contacts his ships on his radio, telling them to send over more men to help look for SG-1; with the shields still up, they couldn't have beamed off, so they must be somewhere. Then he seems to calm down, remembering why he is here, and walks purposefully to the control console Carter just destroyed. He takes a quick look at it, smiles, and gets to work...

Meanwhile, on the other end of the ship, Carter, Mitchell, and Teal'c are materializing in the engine room, startling the Chinese team still working there. The lead scientist demands to know what's going on, but Mitchell says there's no time and that they need to move now. The Chinese begin to protest, saying they will file a complaint with Col. Liu, but Teal'c finally grabs two of them and roughly drag them away, with the other two scientists following reluctantly after their companions.

As they go through the hallways, always on the lookout, Carter explains that she had found a subroutine for a transporter system, no doubt given to the Furlings by their allies the Asgard. She entered a final command into the system to transport the three of them out of the bridge, then blasted it so Garrin would be unable to use the sensors or transporter himself. Considering how long it took her to rig an interface, even with previous exposure to Furling technology, she highly doubts he'll make any headway. Now they just need to find Daniel and Vala--without using their radios--and find a way off this ship. But Mitchell brings up a sobering point; they all saw the ha'tak drop out of hyperspace on the sensors, and there's little hope they could get away before being destroyed. They need a plan.

Closer to the bridge, Daniel and Vala are also hurrying through the corridors, trying to put as much distance between themselves and Garrin's men as possible. Vala asks how they could have possibly got onboard, seeing as there were no ships in the area when the Ming Yun arrived. Daniel guesses that a ship arrived to drop them off, then retreated (he suggests it took some damage in whatever battle took place here) to get reinforcements, not thinking anyone else would be coming. Whatever the case, the problem is here now, and all that matters is finding the others and getting out of here.

As they round a corner, they suddenly spot two of Garrin's men up ahead, who quickly reach for their radios. Vala zats one of them, and the second one is taken out by Daniel's P-90 fire. At once, he regrets using such a loud weapon, but there was no time to switch for anything else. He and Vala throw the bodies into a nearby room and seal the door, after taking one of their radios, then immediately start running down the hallway, knowing that more soldiers will be there any minute now to investigate.

Carter and Mitchell are examining a security console in the bowels of the ship when Teal'c suddenly calls out to them. They join him at a nearby window and watch as the three ha'tak slowly start to maneuver away from the ship...

On the Ming Yun, the Chinese are in disarray. Dozens of Garrin's troops have ringed aboard, and one of his lieutenants has taken control of the bridge. He orders Col. Liu to tell him how to pilot the ship so they can take it with them, but the Chinese officer refuses. After three more attempts fail, Garrin's man finally just pulls out a pistol and shoots Liu in the head. He then turns to the pilot and orders him to take the ship to coordinates, and the rest of the crew will be spared. Not seeing any choice, the pilot does as he is told.

The team watches, their hearts sinking, as the three ha'tak and the Ming Yun jump into hyperspace. But that's only half the shock they have to face; the Furling ship is moving! Somehow, Garrin's managed to get control of the ship, and the three humans look on in horror as they, too, enter hyperspace. Now they're sure somthing is wrong, as Carter knows that no one should have been able to get sensors online, much less the hyperdrive. Hacking into the security console, she quickly jams the ship's sensors, hoping that it will hold off Garrin long enough for them to come up with something.

Getting closer to the others now, Daniel and Vala are also looking out a window into hyperspace, equally amazed. Daniel is shocked this ship can still fly, considering the amount of time it's been sitting in space. Up ahead, they suddenly hear voices, and the two of them dive behind outcroppings in the walls, raising their weapons...

Teal'c perks up, noticing a subtle clang nearby. He alerts Carter and Mitchell, and the three of them grab their weapons, telling the Chinese to stay hidden. Slowly, very slowly, the trio advances, jumping past a doorway to come face-to-face with none other than Vala and Daniel. The five of them stand silent for a moment, then break out in sighs of gratitude. They quickly swap what they know; Carter explaining Garrin's storming of the bridge, and Daniel explaining the ship's original mission. Then they head back to the Chinese to make a plan.

On the bridge, Garrin is standing at the computer banks that line the walls, tapping in commands. One of his soldiers enters and informs him that they've located two bodies at the far end of ship, one having been stunned and the other shot dead by Tau'ri gunfire. Garrin, angry, tells him to search harder and spread his men out more. The soldier asks if they can just use the internal sensors to look for SG-1, but recieves a harshy repremand for it. His commander angrily replies that the sensors have been jammed, and that if he doesn't find the Earth team soon, he'll be shot where he stands.

As the team sits in what appears to be a small lab, the ship suddenly lurches; they've dropped out of hyperspace. Carter brings up a display on the lab's computer, and they see a gargantuan space station before them. The three ha'tak and the Ming Yun are also dropping out of hyperspace nearby, and forming up near the station (which is surrounded by numerous ha'tak, al'kesh, and other alien ships). Mitchell surmises that this is Garrin's base of operations, in which case they really need to get out of here. Suddenly, Carter gets an idea, and leans in to tell it to the others...

Back on the warship's bridge, Garrin has almost got sensors unjammed. Suddenly, though, the ship begins to rotate to face the Ming Yun, without him doing anything. Then, even more shocking, a flurry of energy blasts are unleashed by the Furling ship, pummeling the 303's shields. This is Carter, who is using the controls in an auxillary control room to take partial control of the ship, but she knows that Garrin can override her once he figures it out.

A second later, it's done; the Ming Yun's shields fail, and Carter cuts the weapons. She then unjams the sensors and beams herself, SG-1, and the Chinese back onto their ship, simultaneously setting the Furling ship to beam Garrin's men on the 303 back to his position.

Garrin watches, amazed, as the 303 suddenly turns (now under the control of SG-1 once more) and jumps into hyperspace before his ha'tak can do anything to stop them. Once more, they have escaped.

Back on Earth, the Chinese ambassador ("The Scourge", "Crusade") is meeting with SG-1 at the ISGC, congratulating them for a job well-done. She adds that China is not going to try anything for the loss of Col. Liu, as they understand they could not have stopped it. In fact, they have offered the Ming Yun are any further missions, should they need the ship, but Mitchell declines, noting that two new 304s should be coming off the production line within a week.

As the ambassador turns to leave, she calls over Daniel Jackson, whom she has sparred with in the past. She asks him what became of the Furling warship, and what this means for Earth, to which he solemnly replies that it, by now, has no doubt joined Garrin's growing armada. Even worse, they will probably be seeing it again far too soon... on the battlefield.

12x12 "Occam's Razor"
Synopsis: The Alpha Site is attacked during SG-1's tour of the base, but the reasons for the assault aren't immediately clear.

Spoiler:

Trudging through the thick forests that surround Earth's latest Alpha Site (the old one having been destroyed in the events of "Retaliation, Part 2"), SG-1 is discussing this particular world's merits; it has an over-powered magnetic field that scrambles sensors of nearby ships, and it has a vast mountain range which an underground base can be built into for defense. It also lies within a nexus of two major hyperspace routes, which means help is never far away should it be required.

As the team walks along the winding path back to the base entrance (the mountain peaks can be seen in the distance), a dull roar starts to build in behind them. The five of them turn around just in time to see an al'kesh soar overhead, heading toward the Alpha Site. At once, they set out at a dead run, trying to make it back in time to help. Mitchell asks who could be attacking, but Vala thinks the answer is fairly obvious by this point; Garrin's rogue brance of the Lucian Alliance.

SG-1 emerges from the forest at the top of a small rise that overlooks the entrance to the Alpha Site, and there they see a dreadful sight; two al'kesh are hovering over the area, pummeling it with plasma fire. A few dozen soliders can be seen valiantly trying to fight them off with rocket launchers, but the al'kesh are already ringing down squads of Jaffa and human mercenaries to take them out. Carter and Mitchell get up and start to run forward, but Teal'c calls out for them to stop; the five of them can not hope to do anything now, and they should retreat into the forest to hide and make a plan.

Once they're sufficiently deep in the forest, Mitchell radios the base and asks for Col. Shefield, the commander of the Alpha Site. But all he gets in response is an recorded message asking all personnel to evacuate the area. Finally, the sound of weapon discharges slows and stops, indicating that the fight at the base has ended, no doubt in a loss for the Earth forces. Teal'c points to a nearby tree that rises above the rest of the canopy, and Carter quickly shimmies up to get a better look at the situation. She's able to see the two al'kesh landing just outside the base entrance, and a large number of enemy troops heading inside. Once she has this information, she drops back down to the rest of the team.

She quickly tells the others what she saw, but also mentions that it would be impossible for them to take out the sheer number of men that have been brought in. So for the time being, Daniel suggests they scout the area. That being decided as the best course of action, they head for a small bunker about two miles southeast that was built to store extra supplies and munitions from Earth.

As they make their way through the forest, Vala asks how Garrin could have located the Alpha Site, seeing as no one is supposed to know its location. Daniel reminds her that this planet's gate address was given to the other Alliance members following the attack on Heliopolis, so it's possible one of them betrayed them (it should be noted that this is the first time anyone from Earth has expressed doubt about the Alliance). But both Teal'c and Carter argue that only the leaders of the respective factions recieved the address, and they would not give it to one of Garrin's men under any curcumstances... so they believe.

Nearing the bunker, Mitchell brings up a question; what could Garrin be hoping to accomplish here? Destroying the Alpha Site wouldn't cripple Earth, and they could construct a new one within weeks. Any sensitive information would be purged from base computers as soon as any attack is launched, and there aren't any experiemental weapons here or anything else of real, tangible value. Vala's explanation is that he just wants revenge, but Daniel agrees with Cameron, saying there must be more.

The team hurriedly rushes into the bunker and into its small armory once they arrive. They grab as much ammunition as they can, then try to raise the base once more. When they continue to get only static, Mitchell suggests they head back to the Alpha Site and try to sneak inside using the surface hatch (like the SGC's, seen in "Foothold"), and the others agree that it may be the only way. But as soon as they come to the edge of the forest, they see the two al'kesh ring up the last of the Lucian Alliance troops and blast into space, seemingly leaving the facility untouched (minus the blasts from the battle earlier). Shocked, Carter quicky motions for them to get inside the base, and they rush to the entrance.

As they enter, they find the bodies of dead ISGC personnel and Lucian Alliance mercenaries lying all around them. It appears that Garrins men were able to fight their way deep into the complex, but were unable to access the gate room. Seeing no one left alive and no secure areas breached, the team is puzzled as to why the attack occured. They come up with several different ideas, but it is agreed that Garrin most likely wanted revenge. They decide to investigate each area of the base, starting with the labs along the entry corridor.

Daniel and Carter head into one lab and start looking around, but don't find anything more than notes and artifacts that were being studied. Jackson suggests the idea of "Occam's Razor", that the simplest solution is usually right, and that the only motive for the attack really was revenge. Carter agrees, noting that the actual base itself went untouched. She radios Mitchell and Vala, asking if they found anything in the control room, but they say they're only seeing more dead bodies... which is strange, considering the blast doors leading to that area went unopened. Regardless, they assume some kind of chemical weapon was used.

Teal'c, meanwhile, is one level downstairs, looking through the crew quarters. He peers in a doorway and suddenly freezes; there are three Lucian Alliance soldiers inside, attempting to slice into a computer console. He goes to contact the others, but is suddenly zatted from behind. At first, it seems no one is there, but then two more men de-cloak, turning off Sodan cloaking devices. They exchange worried looks, knowing that SG-1 is here.

Back upstairs, the rest of the team is on the verge of giving up; it seems nothing is here. Mitchell begins dialing Earth to tell them about the attack, but suddenly the power goes out, sending the dialing computer offline. Vala guesses that the circuit breakers were overloaded in the attack, and she and Mitchell go to reset them. In the meantime, Carter and Daniel begin turning on flashlights and exploring more of the abandoned base (the sun is beginning to set outside).

As the second group (Carter/Jackson) head into another wing of the base, Carter notes how strange it is that there are still dead bodies everywhere. But Daniel re-iterates the idea of a checmical weapon, saying that the Lucian Alliance no doubt heard of the Trust's great success with such tactics in the past ("Endgame"). Carter, worried that they may be exposed, pulls out a scanning device and runs a scan for checmical weapons. The result confirms their fears, and a fast-acting nerve gas is detected. However, it appears to be remarkably short-lived, and has already dissipated.

Some distance away, Vala and Mitchell are getting close to the power room. When they arrive, they find the blast door open and the body of a technician on the floor, dead. Mitchell surmises that he was attempting to reroute power to the automatic defenses (machine guns) that were mounted outside the base, but was killed by whatever killed the others here. Either way, they know they have to get moving, and quickly bring the facility back online. But as they turn to leave, a group of Lucian Alliance men de-cloak and stun them.

As Carter and Daniel begin to head back to the gate room, they find a strange sight; one of the armory's is unlocked, and several ARGs and P90s are lying scattered on the floor along with more bodies. Jackson doesn't understand, as only the nerve gas reached this level of the base, not enemy troops. Why would there be such a mad dash for weaponry? Carter thinks the soldiers here were probably just desperate to go help their comarades, and they move on.

As they enter the gate room, Carter glimpses a shimmer in the air, which she immediately recognizes as a cloaking device. She pulls out her P90 and opens fire, with Daniel following suit. One of them men goes down, becoming visible as he does so. Jackson pulls out a zat and shoots the metal floor, sending a weak electric charge throughout the room and shorting out the other cloaking fields... revealing seven armed men behind numerous cover positions. There is a brief but intense shootout, in which half the Lucian Alliance men are taken out.

The remaining soldiers demand Carter and Daniel's surrender, claiming that their al'kesh are still in orbit waiting to pick them up, and could easily drop off more troops. Daniel replies that that doesn't make sense; why would they leave in the first place? But Carter already knows the answer; it was a trap to lure SG-1 here. They must have figured out they were here, or gotten the information from one of them scientists on the Alpha Site. The soldiers merely ask again for their surrender, saying that they already have the rest of SG-1. They claim they came here for the database, to learn the location of Earth's other outposts, and now they have them. Getting SG-1 was just the icing on the cake.

But then Carter remembers something; the Alpha Sites were equipped with nerve gas dispensers that would trigger in case of a foothold situation once all personnel had escaped. But what if there was no time for that? That would explain the technician Mitchell found (and reported to them) in the power room; he was overriding the failsafes to dispense the gas now and protect the base, since they were all dead anyway with no way out. That would mean that someone really bad had to have been here, worse than a few human and Jaffa mercs.

More "Occam's Razor" (see above post for first part)

And that's when they see it walk out from the corridor... a human-form Replicator. Somehow, Garrin managed to get his hand on one and set it loose on the Alpha Site. That explains why there were dead with signs of wounds inside the blast doors—the Replicator just melted right through. The machine stands alongside the Lucian men, claiming that there are things far beyond their comprehension, and tells Carter and Daniel to give up now or she will kill them. Carter stands and begins arguing with it as Daniel reaches down and, after a moment, comes up with... an ARG! He had grabbed one along with some extra ammo from the armory, and fires a single burst into the Replicator, but it does nothing. This one must have the cipher.

The Replicator sees and charges at the two SG-1 members, who barely escape into the corridor in time. With the machine and the Lucian Alliance men hot on their tail, Daniel and Sam make their way to a lab on the far end of the base, trading shots with their enemies. Finally, they reach the lab and seal the door, though they know it won't hold the Replicator off for more than a few seconds. But still, they use their time to shimmy into the duct system where they'll be safe.

While they crawl along, Carter wonders how in the world Garrin got his hand on a Replicator; Daniel suggests that it was left over on a world not affected by the Dakara weapon ("Reckoning, Part 2"), but Sam finds that unlikely. Still, it is disturbing that he was able to get one regardless of the way. But then she has an idea, and they hurry through the vents again.

Back in the gate room, Mitchell, Vala, and Teal'c are coming to. One of the Lucian Alliance soldiers begins prodding them for information, revealing their true reason for coming here; the team's first guess was right, and they have decided to try and wipe out Earth's interstellar holdings (which confirms Earth's fears from "The Relic" and "Manifest Destiny"). Now that they have the coordinates of those bases, thanks to the Alpha Site, they can destroy every last one. But they still need to know more, particularly what defenses other facilities will have. The soldier tries hurting the trio to make them talk, but no amount of pain seems to break them. Then he raises his gun to Vala's head...

...and is zatted! Carter and Daniel drop down from the vent in the gate room, and Carter immediately begins taking out the soldiers left. Daniel rushes to the other corner of the room, where he disappears behind a doorway. Just as Carter takes out the last man, though, the Replicator enters and, seeing her, charges. Sam tries zatting it, then runs up the steps of the gate, hoping to hide in the empty area behind it. She leaps through the portal itself and crouches behind a crate, with the human-form about to head up the steps.

But then, in an instant, all seven chevrons flash on and a wormhole forms, the "kawoosh" enveloping the Replicator and destroying it. Daniel comes back into the room, explaning that Carter remembered the spare DHD kept here (following the example of previous Alpha Sites, "Gemini"). They then planned this, knowing the kawoosh would take out the Replicator with ease. Glad to be freed, the team radios ISGC (Daniel dialed Earth) for aid and waits...

Back at the ISGC, Landry says that the Delta Site (a military test facility) was also destroyed by the Lucian Alliance, but now that they know what's going on, they should be able to protect other Sites.

While she's working in her lab, Carter is visited by Daniel. He feels bad for suggesting the idea of Occam's Razor now, as it led them to an assumption that almost got them killed; had they gone for the more complex theory rather than the simple one, they would not have assumed the things they did about the evidence they found. But Carter assures him that it's not his fault, as no one can ever know all the facts. Still, at least Garrin was stopped... this time.

SLIGHT spoilers for "Ark of Truth"


12x13 "Homefront"
Synopsis: When someone attempts to assassinate President Hayes, the team is dispatched to figure out who was behind the attack.

Spoiler:

It's a beautiful, sunny day in Washington, D.C. Riding alone an interstate highway into the city, President Henry Hayes (who was re-elected in Season 11) is making his way home from a trip to Western Europe. Also in the limo with him are numerous aides, all busily typing on their laptops or making calls on their cell phones.

As they draw closer to the White House, Hayes remarks that they really should start travelling by puddle jumper, seeing as it's much faster and no doubt more secure. But one of the aides replies that the Atlantis Expedition can only spare a few, and they are all being used by the ISGC at the moment, though his comment will be taken into account at the next opportunity for more.

Suddenly, a burst of plasma slams into the ground just ahead of the motorcade, incinerating two police officers on motorcycles. The limo swerves to the side barely in time to avoid a second strike, which destroys a second car travelling behind them. A third blast follows on the heels of the previous two, but the driver is able to avoid them both, nearly crashing the car in the process. Finally, though, a forth burst of plasma rips through the driver's side of the limo, and it erupts into flame.

Secret Service agents pull Hayes from the car, quickly getting him into cover behind the wreckage. Now the attacker's pisition is revealed; a staff canon has been mounted on a nearby building, and it rains plasma down on the location of the President. But just as the Secret Service is about to be overwhelmed... it suddenly stops, and the rooftop on which the canon is mounted explodes, taking any remaining evidence with it. Hayes looks on, shocked, wondering what, exactly, just happened.

A day later, SG-1 is being driven (in civilian clothing) to the White House, surrounded by police and Air Force soldiers. Washington is in a panic, and no one can quite figure out how the assassin was able to get so close to the President's motorcade, considering the Aurora was in orbit scanning the area. International news is blaming Jaffa extremists, given the type of weaponry used in the attack, but the Pentagon thinks that Islamic radicals that purchased alien munitions are behind this.

As they wait to arrive, the team bounces their own ideas off one another. Daniel and Mitchell both think that an Earth-based group was behind the attack, but they doubt it was any sort of terror group, more likely the Trust. Carter, on the other hand, believes Garrin and his men launched the attempt, hoping to cripple Earth's political field. Teal'c and Vala are both neutral on the subject, not knowing enough about international politics to make an accurate guess.

Finally, the car pulls up to the entrance to the White House, and SG-1 is escorted to the Oval Office, where they find Hayes already waiting for them. The President, looking very worried, tells them to be seated and offers them a drink. He paces around his desk, detailing the assassination attempt the day before, trying to offer what insights he can. According to Hayes, they were travelling along a route they've always taken back from the airport, and have been for years. It wasn't as if that day provided a new opportunity, so there had to be some reason for the particular time.

Daniel asks if any important talks with the Middle East were coming up, something that could trigger militants to want to eliminate him. But the President replies that he hadn't scheduled a trip to that area for another few months, and that with the stargate public knowledge, American aproval across the world has soared anyway, even in Arab nations. Times have changed.

Seeing that route as mostly dead (especially when Hayes tells the team that the CIA just reported that no jihad groups have claimed responsibility), Carter moves on to the possibility of offworld action. She asks for the Aurora's sensors logs from the day before, but they don't reveal any unidentified ships entering Earth orbit. A total of twenty-three ships came and left the planet, mostly Jaffa cargo ships and numerous human vessels, but all of them were extensively scanned for weaponry before given clearance to land. Still, it is possible that the attackers smuggled themselves aboard and had weapons already on Earth. Mitchell and Teal'c decide to check with the CIA and follow that lead.

After those two leave, Daniel decides that they should see if the Trust has been active recently, and he, Vala, and Carter ask Hayes if they can meet with agent Barret of the NID. He gives them the go-ahead, and they depart, as well.

At the NID headquarters, Barret does have a few leads for the team. Apparently, Trust operatives all but dropped off the map the week before, with only scattered reports from New York and Virginia. Of course, they now realize they must have been heading to D.C. for the assassination. He says that one of the Trust's frontrunners, a man named David Shore, owns a bar in downtown Richmond. They should head there and see if they can pinpoint his location on the day of the attempt. Barret himself is too busy with another problem, though, can cannot come to help them.

Meanwhile, Teal'c and Mitchell are meeting with a CIA agent, going over the Aurora's sensor logs. One ship, a small cargo craft from Hebridan, deviated slightly in its course on approach to the newly-build starport outside of New York City. It's possible that it dropped off the attackers there, but no agents have been dispatched to check the area just yet. With that in mind, Mitchell calls for one of the ISGC's jumpers to give them a lift to New York.

In Richmond, Daniel, Vala, and Sam have arrived at Shore's bar. They're doing their best to look inconspicuous, but they're now known around the world, and it's not easy. But after a few minutes of waiting, Shore himself appears, talking with a few men in the back of the dining area. Carter and Daniel draw their pistols and head over, intending to take him to the local police station for questioning. But just as they're about to arrest him, he turns to reveal a zat, and stuns Carter. Daniel shoots him in the leg, bringing him down, and Vala grabs Sam's gun. But the men he was talking to have also drawn their weapons, and a tense standoff ensues.

The three thugs tell SG-1 to lower their weapons, and Daniel demands that they lower theirs. One of the men points his pistol at Carter's head, and says that if they don't stand down, he'll shoot her. Daniel thinks it over for a moment, then starts to lower his weapon. At the same time, the two other thugs raise their guns at Jackson and Vala, intending to shoot them, but are suddenly shot themselves! SG-1 turns to see a group of NID agents in the doorwar, rushing inside. Apparently, agent Barret felt bad about not being able to come himself, and sent some cavalry. It took them a while to figure out the team was still in the bar, but then they rushed over to help. Jackson thanks them for the assistance, and they round of Shore and his men for questioning.

At the police station, Daniel gets a call from Mitchell, who's jumper is just setting down in a large field several miles outside NYC. They're going to start looking for clues, and will keep the others informed. Jackson thanks him for the heads up, then goes to the interrogation booth, where a refreshed Carter is watching the NID talk to Shore. Vala joins them after a moment with coffee, and they listen in; Shore denies working for the Trust at first, but eventually he admits that he is part of the organization. He's managed to avoid implantation from a symbiote thanks to the shortage of Goa'uld following the downfall of the System Lords and, more recently, Ba'al. But he adamantly claims that the Trust had nothing to do with the attempt of Hayes' life, and that it had to have been someone else.

While the three back in Richmond struggle to figure out what's going on, Mitchell and Teal'c have only found faint footprints in the field. They're about to give up when they suddenly recieve an order to get back to the jumper from the CIA men helping them; a craft is inbound. They rush back and get onboard, cloaking the ship just as a tel'tak approaches over the horizon. According to the CIA agents, it snuck past the Aurora and the other two new 304s (first mentioned in "Takeover"), the Frasier and the Valiant under the cover of a cloak, and only de-cloaked as it approached the field.

The tel'tak quickly lands nearby, and they watch as a car drives up from the other end of the area. The car parks next to the ship, and two men get out, both clearly Jaffam, but dressed as humans. They get onboard the ship and it starts to rise into the sky, cloaking in the process. Mitchell and Teal'c order the CIA men to go after it, and they follow, tracking the ship by its faint energy signature. Unfortunately, they cannot contact any of Earth's ships, as it would give away their position to the enemy.

As the tel'tak soars past the Frasier, it makes its way into Earth's shadow, out of sight from the other ships. The jumper follows, and watches as, finally, it de-cloaks in preparation for a jump to hyperspace. Now able to lock onto the ship with the jumper's weaponry, they fire a drone into its engines, knocking them offline, and alert the Aurora. They position their ship directly in front of the tel'tak, staring through its windows at a shocked group of Jaffa and humans alike. They're not going anywhere.

Some time later, the team is reunited in Washington, having dinner at a local restaurant. Apparently, the assassins were former followers of Origin, and attacked Hayes in order to destroy the leader of the people that brought down their gods. Daniel reminds the rest of the team that not everyone was shown the Ark of Truth, or was near enough to a Prior to be affected by it, so there are no doubt some radicals still out there. But at least that mystery is solved, and an element of the Trust taken down.

Carter also mentions, grinning, that Hayes has recieved his own private puddle jumper, courtesy of Atlantis. The group laughs, going back to their meal.

Okay, I was going to post 12x14 later tonight, but after watching an old episode of SG-1, I've had a new idea for an episode, and I'm gonna try and whip up that ASAP.

Anyway, anyone besides the regular posters here have any criticisms? I'd really appreciate feedback, especially negative. I want to know what I'm doing wrong, if anything, so I can fix it and improve. Thanks!

You gave me an idea about President Hayes assassination attempt. On my next chapter, President Hayes going to a joint session of congress to reveal the existence of the stargate and life in the universe, just as he make the speech, he gave an executive order to arrest all Trust agents, safe houses and mercenaries and after that speech, Trust Agents assassinates the President on the podium.

12x14 "Duo"
Synopsis: A stargate malfunction leaves Mitchell and Jackson isolated on a barren world, cut off from anyone with knowledge that could save them.

Spoiler:

The team is gearing up for a mission in the gate room, apparently to a Jaffa world for talks about possible trading options with Earth civilians. Vala doesn't see much of a problem with letting them just trade as they please, but Carter points out that they can't just have humans rushing through the gate everyday; this is a military facility, after all.

Walter starts dialing up the gate, and Mitchell asks what world they're heading to. Teal'c informs him that it's a large Jaffa world in the heart of the Free Jaffa Nation, with a population of roughly 1.3 billion. That gets a reaction out of the Earth-born members of SG-1, who were under the impression other planets did not grow much. But Teal'c simply replies that they only saw a handful of worlds out there, and that many have populations rivalling Earth's.

Now the gate comes online, and the wormhole is established. Carter, Vala, and Teal'c quickly head up the ramp, but Mitchell lags behind, waiting for Jackson to finish tying his boots. Finally, Daniel is done, and the two jog up the ramp. But just as they step into the event horizon, one of the power conduits overloads, sparking and ignighting the others. The puddle flashes for a moment, then disconnects. And as the gate room crew looks on, they all wonder the same question... what happened to the last two members of SG-1?

On another planet, we see an active stargate suddenly flash, and Daniel and Mitchell are thrown through, landing heavily on a rock surface. The gate shuts down behind them, leaving them in total darkness. Luckily, Mitchell quickly pulls out his P-90 and turns on the flashlight, revealing a spacious rock cavern that appears to be somewhere underground. He helps Jackson to his feet, and the two start to search the area for a way out.

While they look around, Mitchell asks the obvious question; how did they get here, and where are the others? Daniel says he has no idea, but remembers that O'Neill and Carter once went through an ordeal like this during the first year of the Stargate Program ("Solitudes"), and it was due to a large amount of energy hitting the gate at once, which caused it to "jump" to another gate. His guess is that there was some technical problem back at ISGC, and the same thing has happened to them.

As Daniel heads around the back of the gate, his spirits drop. This planet's DHD has been destroyed by falling debris, and it's doubtful they can get it working again without Sam. Mitchell calls him over then, pointing out a row of computer banks built into the wall. Obviously, someone once used this place, so there must be a way out somewhere. So the two of them head deeper into the cave structure, hoping to find a solution to their problem.

Meanwhile, on the Jaffa trading world, the other members of SG-1 are very concerned. They redial Earth and asks why Mitchell and Jackson have yet to arrive, but they say that they stepped through the wormhole... right before the gate overloaded. Apparently, a faulty connection in the power lines sparked, and that caused the surge. Sgt. Siler is looking into it right now, hoping to get it repaired. But until then, the ISGC won't be dialing out anytime soon, so they're on their own.

Carter suggests they head to the Beta Site and try and figure out what happened; she has an idea, based on something that happened to her in the past, but knows that it won't be easy finding them if she's right. Teal'c mentions that the Jaffa representatives will not be happy if they just leave, but Carter is adamant that finding the others take precedence over any diplomatic trip. That settled, they dial the Beta Site and get going.

Half a galaxy away, Mitchell and Jackson have made it to a larger area of the cave, this one full of computer banks, monitors, and other technology. This place is beginning to resemble a military control outpost, as Mitchell points out, and Daniel sits down at one of the computers. After a few minutes of fiddling with the wiring, he gets pwoer restored and boots it up. While he's doing that, Mitchell heads over to a row of power switches and, after a few seconds, gets the emergency lighting on, as well.

The Colonel comes back to where Jackson is hard at work typing away; luckily, these computers don't have any passcodes or firewalls, probably because the people that used them never expected anyone to make it in here. He quickly brings up a file on this facility, and what he finds causes him to freeze; this place was one of the rogue NID's old hideouts, which would explain why they were able to power it up so quickly (all items have been stripped of things like brand logos, though, it seems). Back in the days before Col. O'Neill and the Asgard caught them ("Shades of Gray"), they must have used this world as a base to launch raids.

This gives Mitchell hope, as the rogue NID weren't the type to give themselves only one out. There should be at least one other way out of this place, and he's determined to find it. But Daniel's cyber-search has revealed something else, too... this planet was taken over by a minor Goa'uld five years ago, and chances are he's still here, hiding from forces like the Free Jaffa Nation. Mitchell thinks that he would've been killed by now by the Replicator invasion, but Jackson reminds him that RepliCarter mostly targeted the System Lords. If this Goa'uld was working alone, he could very well have slipped by. Either way, there could be a very dangerous foe waiting just above them.

Leaving Daniel to keep looking through the files, Mitchell heads deeper into the cave, poking through long-abandoned rooms. Jackson gives him periodic reports over the radio about things such as when the NID left, how many people worked here, etc. At length, though Cameron comes across what appears to be an armory, eases the door open, and slips inside.

At the Beta Site, Carter has assembled a team of scientists to help her figure this out. She guesses (correctly) that what happened to Mitchell and Jackson is the same as what happened to O'Neill and herself eleven years ago, and that they can find the two of them the same way (Vala and Teal'c are waiting patiently at the door, not knowing how to contribute).

Carter's plan is simple; they'll determine the coordinates of all the stargates between Earth and the Jaffa world, then dial each one and radio through to see if SG-1 is there. If not, they'll deactivate the gate and try again. It's not the most elegant idea, but it should get the job done. With that decided on, the team gets to work plotting out coordinate grids.

Meanwhile, Mitchell has emerged from the armory with an armful of C4, and he proceeds down the corridor again. He seems to be on to something, and after a few seconds of jogging, he grins and tells Jackson that he thinks he's found their way out; a massive blast door lies just ahead, no doubt leading outside. He begins placing C4 charges on the door at key points, then places a few detonators around them. All the while, Daniel is asking that he make sure the area is structurally sound before he goes and blows it, but Cameron seems sure they'll be fine.

In the command center, Daniel brings up a schematic of the facility on his computer, and begins checking the area where Mitchell is preparing to blast. As he scans over, his eyes start to widen, and he grabs his radio. But Mitchell already has the detonator primed, and has retreated around a bend in the corridor. Just as his radio clicks on and Daniel's voice comes through, he blows the C4.

The blast door is blown apart at once, sending a blast of rock and metal into the next chamber. Mitchell grabs the radio and asks Daniel what he wants as he goes to see how his handiwork did... then stops cold; behind the blast door was a bridge leading to the next area, and he just destroyed half of it. Now a wide chasm separates them from the second half of the base, which, Daniel adds, looks like it had the surface exit.

A frustrated Cameron demands to know why he didn't tell him that before, but Jackson says he only just found the schematic files; had he waited a moment, this could have been avoided. Mitchell shouts for him to come up with a plan then, and shuts off his radio. The colonel then heads into the nearby rooms, trying once more to find a solution.

Back in the control room, Daniel is trying to get the base's subspace transmitter working, but it looks like it's been damaged on the surface. He mutters that he wishes Carter was here, as she'd probably know how to re-route something to get this working, sighs, and goes off to find Mitchell.

Carter, meanwhile, is in the Beta Site gate room, dialing yet another planet and calling for her teammates. Apparently, they determined that there are 269 stargates between Earth and the Jaffa planet, and they've only contacted 17 so far. Worse still, depending on planetary conditions, they might not be able to get a radio signal through to them, or the amount of energy that hit the gate on Earth could have pushed them farther out of the way than they anticipated. This is clearly a long shot at best, but they have nothing else. Seeing that planet 17 is useless, Carter orders number 18 dialed...

Jackson arrives at the far end of the area to find Mitchell gathering up as many pieces of debris as he can find. He has a good-zied pile of scrap metal lying in the corridor, with more being tossed onto it every so often. Daniel asks what, exactly, he's doing, to which he replies, "Building a bridge." He ruszhes back to the armory and grabs a staff weapon, then asks for Jackson's help in assembling a long strip of scrap metal. Once he has a few pieces laid out, he fires the staff weapon over them, just barely skimming the tops. The superheated plasma fuses them together, and in this manner they begin to build their walkway.

About an hour later, it's done. The bridge they've built should be long enough to reach the other side of the chasm, and they should be able to get out. But the cavern begins to shake as they move their bridge to the edge of the corridor, and Daniel mentions that blasting all that C4 may have destabilized the area. Now hurrying, the two of them position their creation and prepare to cross. Slowly, as the cave shakes again, they begin walking across, Mitchell first.

Above ground, a group of Jaffa warriors in combat armor have arrived outside a well-hidden underground hatch, and are clearing the brush around it. The lead Jaffa reports that this must be where the "tremor" originated from (they no doubt are referring to Mitchell's C4 blast). He tells his subordinates to go inform their Goa'uld master, then blast the hatch open with staff blasts and begin lowering themselves down.

Back inside, Daniel has finished crossing the bridge, too, and just in time. Another tremor shakes the cavern, and the walkway is rocked off its ledge, tmbling loudly into the chasm (unfortunately, that clanging makes it impossible for the two SG-1 members to hear the staff blasts above). Mitchell turns to try the door on the other side... but it appears to be stuck. Jackson is incredulous; they came all this way for a locked door!? And ironically, they probably could have overriden the lock from the now out-of-reach control room.
