Did anyone else find the way Katie talk about it in "Quarantine" mildly disturbing (because of how pseudo-sexual it was)? "It's getting bigger and bigger!" using some weird tone of voice...

Some women do have some really subtle ways of saying that

Hey, how come Katie's Viagra-fed cactus and Zelenka's eyeful are generally considered funny and cool, but when Shep and Larrin go at it with the innuendo and looks it's all "he's Kirk" and she's a slut? Not fair, not fair at all!

In the imortal words of O'Neill... "Yeahyabetcha!"
*Although not for the same reasons Katie was hinting to Rodney *

You'd actually be surprised, it's psychology/bodylanguage 101 that people hint to things without meaning to (subconsciously)... Though I actually think Katie was 'consciously' making a hint to Rodney...

I dunno, just some people's opinions of the characters I suppose...

I don't know what you mean by Zelenka's "eyeful" but at least Katie's only going after one man. And, heck, she's dating said man (or was) so it's not Kirkish or slutty in anyway. It's called, you know, monogamy.

And while I found Katie's perceived innuendo mildly disturbing (because it's Katie), it only happened once. She hasn't turned it into an integral part of her vocabulary, body language and vernacular... unlike a certan Travelers captain.

Even accountants have imagination. I personally liked her innuendo, shows that there's a living breathing person instead of a throwaway botanist character.

And man am I tired of people taking potshots at Larrin. She knows that John is susceptible to feminine attributes, and so she uses what she's got. I minored in psychology at college, I know the ways people look at the world and how they decide to influence it. At the end of the day, I admire the character for being willing to do whatever's necessary to help her people.
It's a dangerous business going out your front door.

Larrin is far from "A smart person who took advantage of John's dereliction for women". She was all innuendo, double-entendres, cleavage-showing and flirtatious from the start even from before knowing a single thing about John.

It's her personality. It's how she acts in general. And you know what, though it was toned down for "Be All My Sins Remembered" (and her appaerances were mercifully short), it was all still there. John was no longer a prisoner or someone she had to woo or whatever. But it was still all there because that's who she is.

You like it, I dislike it. But it's who she is, not just a persona she puts on.
