John Barrowman poses with a Tardis as he teases mysterious "meetings at the BBC"
"Fingers crossed," says the former Doctor Who and Torchwood actor – could this be the start of a new adventure in space and time for Captain Jack Harkness?

That John Barrowman is one hell of a tease, isn't he? Not many people could get us so excited about run-of-the-mill actor meetings at the BBC. Then again, not many people would announce said meetings by posing in front of the Tardis...
The Doctor Who and Torchwood actor shared a picture of himself with his agent Gavin Barker, telling his followers that he was "going in for meetings at the BBC".
"Fingers crossed " he added cryptically.
Crossed for what?
And why would he choose to pose in front of the ultimate symbol of Doctor Who unless these 'meetings' had something to do with the future of Captain Jack Harkness?

Going in for meetings at the BBC with Gavin Barker Associates Fingers crossed JB
You only have to look at the Facebook comments under that photo to see just how excited this latest photo has made people.
But what could these meetings be about?
Well. Barrowman has made no secret of the fact that he is keen to see a TV return for Torchwood, especially since the recently released Big Finish audio dramas proved so popular with fans.
BBC3's Class has somewhat taken the place of Torchwood as the BBC's Who spin-off of choice, but that doesn't mean a Torchwood return is out of the question, with Barrowman's castmate Eve Myles also saying she would be up for a TV return for Gwen Cooper.
Alex Kingston too has said that River Song could find a place in the Torchwood revival, while Barrowman himself says he has a special contract in place that allows him to come back to Captain Jack "at the drop of a hat".
Then again, if not Torchwood, could this be a signal that Captain Jack could make an appearance in Doctor Who?
Barrowman has never appeared in an episode opposite Peter Capaldi, but with showrunner Steven Moffat coming to the end of his tenure, perhaps there is time for one more triumphant return – or, alternatively, a new start with next showrunner Chris Chibnall?
Whatever the meeting holds, Barrowman sure knows how to cause a commotion – and we wouldn't have it any other way.
New Audio Torchwood Series from Big Finish
Sunday, 07 May, 2017 - Reported by Marcus
Big Finish has announced that Torchwood will be back for a brand new series of audio adventures with Torchwood: Aliens Among Us...
The new series, revealed at the DWAS convention The Capitol II, will follow the events of Miracle Day, and will see the Torchwood team reunited. Captain Jack, Gwen and Rhys will be joined by new characters co-created and overseen by series creator Russell T Davies.
In this series, Captain Jack and Gwen Cooper have restarted Torchwood in Cardiff, home of the original Torchwood Three. But it's in a very different Cardiff. Something terrible's happened to the city. With every day getting darker, will Torchwood need to adopt a whole new approach?
Producer of Torchwood Season 5, James Goss, talked about the new Torchwood team and Russell T Davies’ involvement.
Russell's been wonderfully involved in the continuation of Torchwood. We came up with some characters and ideas and he very kindly, very politely said 'Marvellous, but no. Howabout...?'. And that's what lead to Jack and Gwen being joined by Mr Colchester (Paul Clayton), Ng (Alexandria Riley), Tyler (Jonny Green) and the enigmatic Orr (Sam Béart). Who are they? What part do they have to play in the future of Torchwood? And can they save Cardiff from an invasion that's already been lost?
This is an ambitious series for Big Finish - an entire season of Torchwood! There are some great scripts by some new writers, but there are also some familiar old faces - of course Rhys and Andy are in it, but there'll be a few other surprises, including an appearance by someone who just has to be, has to be dead...
This new series of Torchwood will be released in three boxsets, the first being out in August. Torchwood Series 5.2 will follow in October and 5.3 will complete the season in the new year.

By Cameron K McEwan on Wednesday 30 August 2017
Audio producers Big Finish have announced that actor James Marsters will be reprising his role as Captain John for a brand new Torchwood adventure alongside Captain Jack Harkness, as played by John Barrowman.
Marsters, also known for his role as Spike in TV shows Buffy and Angel, was last seen in the Torchwood Series 2 finale in 2008 and has returned to wreak havoc in the new release coming next year, The Death of Captain Jack. Producer James Goss comments:
“The Death of Captain Jack is just naughty! It was a joy to get James Marsters back in, and, once again, Captain John romps through Torchwood like a demented clown.Pre-order here and check out the details below:
If you've ever wondered what Torchwood would be like with Captain John at the helm, wonder no more. Nothing from the world of Torchwood emerges unspoiled – and that includes Queen Victoria, and Ianto's dress sense!”
The Death of Captain Jack
Captain Jack is finally dying, and it's time for his oldest friend to visit his deathbed. King John has come to tell him a story. The story of the life he should have had.
It's the story of Alexander the Great, sinking ships, falling empires, robot dinosaurs, and alien invasions. It's a story of love, royal weddings, murder, mass murder, genocide, and very tight trousers.
It's the story of the life of Captain John and it's the story of Torchwood. Be careful what you wish for.
James Marsters is joined by John Barrowman (Captain Jack Harkness), Gareth David-Lloyd (Ianto Jones), Kai Owen (Rhys Williams), Tom Price (Andy Davidson) and many more.
The Death of Captain Jack will be released in March 2018 – it is available for pre-order now on CD and download. Check out the Big Finish website here for Torchwood bundle deals.

Freema Agyeman returns to Big Finish
Monday, 09 September, 2019 - Reported by Marcus
Freema Agyeman reprises her role as Martha Jones in a brand new audio adventure from Big Finish Productions.
Torchwood: Dissected sees Agyeman paired up with Eve Myles as Gwen Cooper in Torchwood: Dissected.
Martha Jones who was the companion of the Tenth Doctor in his second series returns to the world of Torchwood in February next year. Freema Agyeman starred in series 3 of New Doctor Who and its spin-off show, Torchwood, before going on to a huge career.
Big Finish Productions has announced it is delighted that Freema is reprising her role in this new Torchwood story, which explores what Martha did after her adventures with the Doctor.
Employed by UNIT, Martha is reunited with former Torchwood colleague Gwen Cooper (Eve Myles) – over a dead body...
Gwen Cooper turns up on Martha Jones’s doorstep with a dead body in tow. She needs to ask one final favour of her. And to find out why they stopped being friends.
A lot’s happened to Torchwood since Martha left. A lot’s happened to Martha since she left Torchwood. And there’s something very odd about the dead body Gwen’s brought with her. Tonight she's going to be getting more answers than she bargained for.Freema Agyeman talked about returning to the character of Martha Jones.
Aw mate, the nostalgia has been quite overwhelming. It really is like stepping into comfortable old shoes. It feels like about five minutes ago and yet so much time has passed. That’s the wonderful thing about the Whoniverse – you never feel on the outside of it. It’s great to be back.
Director Scott Handcock addedI first met Freema back in 2006 working on Doctor Who Confidential. I watched Martha Jones arrive and grow, and it’s a pleasure to welcome her back to the world of Torchwood. It’s something we’ve been chatting about for years, and to finally make it happen with the amazing Eve Myles (who adores her and vice versa) is a real treat!
Writer Tim Foley told us more about uniting two of science fiction’s most courageous female leadsMartha Jones is back! And I’ve locked her in a room with Gwen! It’s such a delight to pit these two against each other. This is quite an experimental story – you’ll be listening to an autopsy in real time, which was such a fun challenge. Luckily for me Eve and Freema spar off each other marvellously, stuck in a lab with nothing but a corpse for company...
Torchwood: Dissected starring Freema Agyeman and Eve Myles, will be released in February 2020 priced at £7.99 on download or £9.99 on CD.
Apparently, John Barrowman has injured his neck. I hope it's not a paralyzing or serious injury.
John Barrowman: Shows cancelled due to 'severe neck injury'
I always liked Torchwood, and this guy was a large part of that.
