    Wraith Children

In SoW, we saw Wraith warriors being born they are fully mature. this raises questions:

Do the Wraith have genetic memory?

Are their no Wraith infants at all if so what about Elia?

Are the females the only ones born as infants among the Wraith?

    Was Elia a queen?

What we saw were clones being hatched. That is why the Wraith who helped with the replicator codes explained right after that scene that is how they were able to turn the tide so quickly and decisively against the ancients.

I believe Elia was a queen if we could have kept her alive with some non living supplement she could have been an extremely powerful allie. And i also think that the memory is genetic from queen to offspring, but the new queens have to be raised. Very much like the gould, so stargate enemies have a matriarchal society.
Their white flags are no match to our guns!!

It isn't. Ellia had absolutely no memory whatsoever of any life before hers. She was also raised human and was ashamed of what she had to do to survive.

The Wraith don't have genetic memory. Elia didn't remember anything but what she had done and it was stated the Wraith in general have forgotten many things they knew during the war with the Ancients.

I think it's pretty safe to assume that that's not how a normal Wraith birth happens. For one thing, they hadn't been there since the war against the Ancients.

That was just the queen supplying genetic material for the clone machine to do its thing.

There also might be a difference between the "scientist" Wraith and what we saw hatch in SoW. The Wraith hatching made me think of a drone, like in a beehive, having "worker bee" type tasks. Especially since it seemed to need that helmet/facemask to survive. Other Wraith like Todd and Michael perhaps have a different, more formed way of being "born."

I think the Wraiths like Todd, Michael, Bob, Steve, and others are born the natural way. I should think it's safe to assume not every Queen is sitting on a Hive Ship waiting to get shot, but that some are in settlements and making normal offspring. Who tend to grow at the natural rate, like Ellia did.

No they weren't they were the a batch born normally. They woke the queen up because they were done with birthing them the normal way and ready to start the cloning.

The Queens seem to be so territorial and "top of the food chain" controlling, I kind of find it hard to imagine some of them sitting in a settlement somewhere having baby after baby for the good of the race.
But, if the Queens are responsible for "natural" birthing all those non-warrior Wraith, (and there are alot more of them than there are Queens), no wonder they are a bit grumpy.

GoSpikey- I in someways believe in that statement I think the wraith might have an underground city or villlage of some sort where the women who are not dubbed queen go to give birth and atend life like a human can or thier city could be shiel with a invisible force field that hides the location of where other wraith live I mean it takes two to tangle because their are alot of men warriors, leaders, scientist and commanders
So I think Todd could have a woman to breed with micheal Bob and steve who are no longer living could have had a woman they mated with

And I was thinking that, someone like Ellia, who might not have had it in her to be a Queen (???), was transported to another settlement just to make sure there's not too much inbreeding? You never know...

These are just my thoughts on things.

The warrior we saw being born wasn't a clone.

WRAITH: You have done well. The second batch of warriors is flawless.

WRAITH: We now have a suitable genetic template with which to proceed to the next phase.

1: Faced males can hunt and fight because we've seen them do it. Why would the Wraith evolve a warrior caste as well? Michael's super-bugs hatched out as adults like the Wraith warriors. Maybe the latter are just a more humanoid version of the super-bugs and have been an 'artificial creation' all along. It could be what gave him the idea in the first place but he had to improvise with Iratus bugs and humans because he didn't have a Queen to provide genetic material.

2: Michael didn't need Z.P.M's in order to create his super-bugs so there's no reason why the first phase of warrior production couldn't be done on a hive ship. Maybe they can even clone a few warriors on a hive ship too so the Z.P.M's were only needed to power phase two on a gigantic scale where untold thousands of clones were grown at the same time. It would be logical for the Wraith to have developed warrior production and cloning techniques before going to the trouble of capturing three Lantean warships so they could get hold of Z.P.Ms.

3: The warrior creation method can't be how Wraith originally reproduced because it was a high tech process.

A large chair is in the centre of the room. Seated in it with her eyes closed is a Wraith Hive Queen. Her body is covered with tendril-like cables, leaving only her head clear.

They head down the corridor to another chamber in which are several large organic tubes stretching from the floor to the ceiling. They have an eerie bright green light emanating from them. The boys shine their lights on the nearest one and can see a large grey mass inside it about halfway up. The mass is pulsating and writhing as if it is alive.

McKAY: .. The Queen secretes genetic material which gets distributed through the structure into those pods. Presto – new-born Wraith.

When the Queen is woken up -

The guard goes to a console and presses it. All the tendril cables withdraw from around the Queen's body and she opens her eyes and looks at the scientist.

4: We have no idea if faced males are produced by this method now but Wraith must have had a 'natural method' before they evolved enough to create complex technology. From what we've seen so far, Wraith society appears to be on the lives of bees/ants where there's one Queen and a lot of workers. It's difficult to see how one Queen could produce that many offspring by human style pregnancies. As Wraith evolved from Iratus bugs which took on some human characteristics it's possible that the 'normal method' is laying batches of eggs. These hatch out into infant Wraith. Yes, there's the problem of how these eggs could be small enough to be laid in batches while being big enough to hatch out a full sized baby - maybe something else hatches out and pupates or something when it's big enough to turn into a baby.

5: Who cares for the infants? The workers, of course. The Wraith equivalent of workers seem to be the faced males. Maybe, somewhere in the depths of the hive ships, there are nurseries where childcare specialists are feeding the kids, changing nappies etc.

6: Why was Ellia being transported somewhere? Maybe she was going to one of those hives which don't have a Queen.

yeah i am a little confused , because Todd said it was a cloning facility so, do they usually grow naturally?
