I don't think I could have described Farscape any better myself.

No doubt about it, SG-1 and Farscape are two totally different Science Fiction shows. Both great in their own rights, but completely different, both in style and content. IMO, Farscape is definitely worth checking out. It is some of the smartest Science Fiction that has ever been made.

How much humor is in it. More or less then sg1? I like sg1,buffy,angel, because of the humor in a non humor situation. Firefly did this real well. Any of this in farscape?

it is extremely funny. in different ways. some of it is complete slapstick while others are more like in angel and firefly.

Farscape does not wrap everything up with a neat little bow by the end of the episodes. It is NOT your mother/father's Star Trek.

It is a wild, wacky, emotional ride well worth taking.

i can only find season one for $300!!!!! What gives with that. Net flix no longer has season one for rent. Weird.

That's because ADV who USED to own the rights to the DVDs no longer own them. Sony now does and they've yet to put out any "new" versions of the DVDs.

I'd check with your local library as there were/are Scapers who've donated/bought DVDs and donated them to the libraries.

You could also try amazon or ebay or even deepdiscountdvd (I think that's it) for cheaper DVDs.

No clue why netflix no longer has S1.

look for USED copies, they'll be cheaper. I know it's kinda scary to do that, but you'll have better luck I think.

My understanding was season 1 is out of production. Once places go out of stock, they can't get anymore apparently.

It had its funny eps and funny moments. It didn't end each episode in a nice neat bow. And, no this ain't your daddy's scifi.

Hey Wolfie.

Well I loved Farscape, SG-1, and am loving SGA. I think SGA can be more compared to Farscape than SG-1. SGA is darker and they do take risks. How many times has the crew on Moya change? How many times have the characters on Atlantis change?

Farscape just had some great acting and special effects. I think both Stargate had that. I think what makes Stargate more entertaining to me, is that it has a better rewatch feeling to me. I can watch a SG-1 or SGA ep like dozens of times and not be bored. Farscape I've tried to watch over again, but it just was not the same 2nd time around. I might need to wait a little before rewatching.

Let me also compare BSG. BSG was great the first two seasons, before it became "The Love Boat" in space. I hope BSG's ending will help SGA get another season at least!
