Atlantis' Luttrell Finds Ally
Rachel Luttrell, who plays Teyla Emmagan on SCI FI Channel's original series Stargate Atlantis, told SCI FI Wire that informing her bosses of her impeding pregnancy was personally "very difficult," but that she had the support of a surprising ally.
Luttrell is due at any moment with her first child, but the pregnancy was written into the show's upcoming fourth season, and she's already completed her work for the year.
"It was very difficult," Luttrell said of telling Atlantis executive producers Paul Mullie and Joe Mallozzi about being with child. "And the very first phone call that I made, obviously after having spoken to my family, was to Amanda—Amanda Tapping—because she's the [Stargate] veteran, and she's always been very accessible to me in terms of discussing aspects of the show,."
