    Milky Way and Pegasus glyphs

A little discovery. When I watched 3x04 "Sateda", there they showed the planet's coordinates:

I have never knew before that they have latin names as the MW chevrons. I hope I could spell it well:

    Chevron 12 - ARAMI
    Chevron 3 - ALURA
    Chevron 6 - ECRUMID
    Chevron 20 - SALMA
    Chevron 25 - ROEMI
    Chevron 22 - GILLTIN
    Chevron 18 - SUBIDO

So the last one is the symbol of Atlantis? Do you have a complete list somewhere about the names?

edit. I found here the same informations:

About the MW gates. The latin names are actually star constellations. If I know well the chevrons are on the gate as the constellations are around Earth. You should check it with Googly Sky! Here you can see some old pictures, how they planned the gate:

You could see the similar "egyptian gate" version in SG comics.

Here are some simplified pictures about the MW gate and DHD too:

They made individual chevrons in the first seasons. Here are 3 example:

Later they didn't show the last symbol at dialing or they used one from the 39 chevron.

I have searched for a complete list of Pegasus glyphs in the past and I'm fairly sure one does not exist.
Its easy to make one for MW because PTB can just pick those constellations out of the sky.
Pegasus requires taking time to make the glyphs (which could all be found on the Pegasus gate with a little research) and then name them.
I`m sure there are designs for all the glyphs but I don't think they are all named.

On making custom glyphs - they haven't done that for quite some time. I think it probably ended up being too expensive for what would be a prop that would be on screen for a max of 5 seconds. Doing that for every episode would probably become an expense that cannot be justified.

It was done for Chulak because that was the pilot and they could afford it.
It was done in 'Solitudes' because they need a different Earth glyph for story purposes.
It was also done for 'Gamekeeper' because the spiral logo was a big part of that planet.

Yeah, that would be really expensive.

I was happy about my "discovery" a bit too early, because I found the sam information about Atlantis glyphs on wikipedia.

Is it true that the MW glyphs are on the gate as the star constellations are around the globe? The creator of stargate must have plenty of time.

The MW gates have more glyphs than the Pegasus gates. does this mean that the Pegasus galaxy is smaller? Or that the Ancients just didn't put as meany out there?

No, the two stargate are the same size. Here you can see the difference:

            http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stargate_glyph
            or

            http://kepek.csillagkapu.hu/thumbnails.php?album=247

The Pegasus gates seems more symmetrical, because every chevron have one glyph, and between the chevron are three glyph, so 9*3+9 = 36 glyph
But if you watch MW gates, you can see that between two chevron are 3-3,5-4 glyphs, so the gate has more glyphs, but they are thiner.

The glyphs have names but the writers never revealed them all, only because of that pic of McKay's laptop do we have those names.
