meaning of a silver Brand

I was watching an episode from season 2 the other day and saw another jaffa with a brand like Teal'cs but his was silver. And I began wondering why he had a silver brand. I mean you have the regular brand that is black and you have Teal'c and Bratak with the gold ones. However I know that there brand represents being First Prime. So my question is what does the silver brand mean?
