STAR TREK (TOS) MOVIES 1, 3-4 on DVD | 2, 5-6 on VHS
STAR TREK (TNG) MOVIES 7 on VHS, 8-10 on DVD

well, I decided to go with TNG and I bought season 4, since it was the only thing I could buy. Enjoying it at the moment

I have

Star Trek: Vol 1&2 (R1 DVD's)
Star Trek TNG: Season 4
Star Trek Voy: Season 1-7
Star Trek Movies: 1-10 (All R1 DVD)

To the starter of this thread: As you can see, asking which series is the best to collect is.....controvercial at best. And the very mixed replies/arguements probably make the choice all the more difficult.....
