It makes sense for the leader of the group to always be reachable IMO.

    What words of wisdom..
Jackson: Hathor was the Egyptian goddess of fertility, inebriety, and music.

Ummmm she should be wearing it. Seeing as how she is the leader of the Atlantis expidition missions.....

it is rather small, isn't it?
i don't know, but the size annoys me... sometimes you really have to squint to check if they are wearing them or if it was just a stray hair...

but i guess it is understandable that people will be needing to talk to her all the time... though they seem to have other means, the atlantis radio system (paging dr. weir to the control room), the walkie-takies, and of course the good ole yell....

What you don't realize is that in between watching over Sheppard, she's busily dialing random gates and asking "Are you happy with your long distance carrier?"

I agree, except Weir hasn't really sold me that she's the leader of this expedition. It seems like whenever we see her she's looking to others for decisions (particularly Sheppard) or allowing other people to do their thing without asserting any control (see Sargeant Bates).

Hehe, wouldn't it be funny, albiet strange, if she did.

Now I think she's always wearing the head set... because...
    Spoiler:
The costume designer tells her to wear it... and the director... and it's part of her character.

Taking it off would be like Janeway (Star Trek: Voyager) leaving her combadge on her bedside table.

Perhaps you have overlooked the fact that every member of the team, and the crew of Atlantis has a headset....and if not ALL, then most. Communication is crucial in a place as large as Atlantis and in a place where the unexpected occurs frquently. It is NOT a hair accessory, fashionalbe or otherwise and I think Elizabeth looks fine with it or without it.

Torri has sold me....I find her portrayal of Dr. Weir to be dead on. She is neither too pushy or too weak. She leads by example and is never afraid to ask for help or suggestions. She respects her entire crew and allows others to see her grieve, a rare quality in a good leader. But that's just my take....
    On fighting:
Farrah: "A swordsman does not fear death, if he dies with honor."
Dr. Who: "Then he's an idiot."
