I remember my grade six teacher introducing those to us- after reading Redwall, several kids that never bought or read books ever, started buying up the series and reading them obsessively. Love the magic of a good book that actually gets kids who don't normally read, to do so.

i have them all ... and didn't start reading them til i was an adult!! .... and i have read all of them except for the last one!!! too cheap ... waiting for it in paperback!! Harry is the only one i have ever blown the wad for ... less that two weeks ... squeeee!!!! got your movie tix yet??

*sigh* they are great ... Martin and the gang ... My Hero (oops ... sry MH!!)
i love the way jacques uses such descriptive writing ... you read the words ... close your eyes ... and a vivid pix splashes in front of you ... it is amazing, you can smell the food, hear their voices, touch their faces, enjoy the beams of triumph ...

and i wonder why i prefer the fantasy books ... and love the series books (the getting to know the character from all angles ... becoming part of the family) ... but i do get serious once and a while am currently reading "the problem of pain" , CS Lewis ... it makes my head ache if i read too long ... it is amazing stuff (as he always is), its just this teeney book is taking me forever because for me to truly grasp it as i desire to i have to read each section two or three times ... of course Chronicles is on my all time fave series books ... that is so a huge leap above most others ...

oops ... sry got a little carried away there!!

    teehee!!!

but Redwall is a great read if anyone is looking ... great fight scenes and such ... sry no pix ... well except for the ones that you conjure up in your head and strictly PG ...

If I never reply to something you said to me, it doesn't mean I'm ignoring you, it means I'm lazy and the thread moves too fast.

Two weeks two weeks! According to my lovely little countdown calendar too! Currently on Chapter three of GoF in the series re-read! Wonder what happens next..... No movie tickets yet though- we go see the Harry Potter films as a familiy and typically wait a week or two until it's a little less crowded. Must sceme to go before DH comes out though.

It's horrible how expensive books are- especially beautiful hardcovers. Libraries are indeed the most wonderful of places.

*sigh* Narnia- love those books, though I can really only remember the first two. I can't believe it's been ten years since I read them. There's something else to add to the reading list this summer.

Oh, I was definitely going to do the alien tourney first--I was just wondering if it would be worth it to do a best comic book tourney sometime later....

Well, as you might have guessed, we hopped on him. He didn't like it so much, but that's what he got for falling asleep on the floor while watching T.V.

I love the Grinch!!! The original of course.

    Every Who
    Down in Who-ville
    Liked Christmas a lot...

    But the Grinch,
Who lived just North of Who-ville,
    Did NOT!

    The Grinch hated Christmas!
    The whole Christmas season!
Now, please don't ask why. No one quite knows the reason.
It could be that his head wasn't screwed on quite right.
It could be, perhaps, that his shoes were to tight.
But I think that the most likely reason of all
May have been that his heart was two sizes too small.

And of course you can't forget Max
