    I say Goh-ah oold.

Question, though. Is the apostrophe meant to be a glottal stop (that's how I treat it) ir is it just suppoed to prevent us from slurring the "auld" in to "ahld"?

Sorry - I think my inner geek just came out.

I like to pronounce it like Machello did.

The best way to know how to properly pronounce it is to ask a Goa'uld himself. That should settle it.

Yep, I vote for go-AH-oold too. Not surprisingly, I couldn't resist adding a title to the fantasy Stargate Bookmobile on my site called Goa'uld Grammar Series: Mastering the Apostrophe and the Glottal Stop. I like to think it was Daniel's doing and Jonas confirmed that every alien linguist should own a copy I wonder why it's checked out all the time?
